Ingredients

- Salted butter: Soften before using to get the right texture and make mixing easier.
- Granulated sugar: Needed for both the muffin batter and the crumble topping.
- Eggs: Use room temperature eggs to help muffins rise properly.
- Heavy cream: Adds richness and a full flavor compared to milk.
- Vanilla extract: Enhances and blends all the other flavors.
- Self-rising flour: Essential for the batter and crumble; using all-purpose flour may make muffins flat and dense.
- Fresh blueberries: Rinse before using but don’t dry; keeps the flour coating on better.
- All-purpose flour: Needed to coat the blueberries before adding to the batter.
- Nuts: Optional, add chopped pecans, almonds, or walnuts to the crumble.
- Cinnamon: Adds warm, deep flavor to the crumble topping.
- Light brown sugar: Gives a subtle caramel flavor to the crumble.
How To Make Ninja Woodfire Blueberry Muffins

Step 1: Preheat the grill by pressing the Woodfire Flavor Technology button and setting it to “Lo” Heat. Add muffin liners to the muffin pan while the grill is preheating.
Step 2: Add softened butter and sugar to a stand mixer while the grill preheats. Beat until the mixture is pale yellow. Slowly add the eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Slowly add the flour. You’ll want to add a little at a time to avoid lumps in the batter. Set aside.

Step 3: Once the batter is made, rinse them and gently toss them in a bowl of flour until they are evenly coated. You don’t want to dry the blueberries after rinsing; this will help the flour stick. Gently fold the floured blueberries into the prepared batter.

Step 4: If adding the optional crumble, mix the chopped nuts, flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter into a bowl. Use your hands to crumble the mixture. You don’t want to press it into a dough.

Step 5: Fill the muffin liners ¾ of the way full. Sprinkle the top with crumble. Place the muffin pan in the preheated Ninja Woodfire and bake for 25 minutes. The muffins are done when they are golden brown on top and the dough is firm.
Step 6: Allow to cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then remove the muffins from the pan and cool for an additional 5-10 minutes on a wire rack. Serve and enjoy warm!

Ninja Woodfire Blueberry Muffins Recipe Tips
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure your eggs and butter are at room temperature for a smooth, lump-free batter and even baking.
- Don’t Overmix: When folding in the blueberries, gently mix to prevent breaking the berries and turning your batter purple.
- Flour-Coat Blueberries: Toss rinsed blueberries in a little flour before adding to the batter. This prevents them from sinking to the bottom.
- Even Muffin Size: Use a cookie scoop or measuring cup to portion batter evenly, ensuring uniform baking.
- Optional Crumble: Add the nut and sugar crumble for a crunchy, flavorful topping—it’s worth the extra step!
- Check Doneness Early: Baking times can vary slightly with the Woodfire Grill; start checking with a toothpick a few minutes before the minimum suggested time.
Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Keep muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. This keeps them soft and prevents them from drying out.
- Freezing: Wrap individual muffins in plastic wrap or place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or warm in the microwave before serving.
- Reheating: Heat muffins in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes. This restores warmth and brings back that freshly-baked texture.

Ninja Woodfire Blueberry Muffins Recipe Faqs
Can I use frozen blueberries instead of fresh? Yes, you can! Toss frozen blueberries in a little flour before adding them to the batter to prevent them from sinking and turning the muffins blue.
Do I need self-rising flour? Self-rising flour gives the muffins a light, fluffy texture. If using all-purpose flour, add 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder and a pinch of salt per cup of flour.
Can I make these muffins without the crumble topping? Absolutely! The muffins will still be soft and flavorful without the crumble, though the topping adds a sweet crunch.
Can I make these muffins ahead of time? Yes! You can prepare the batter and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking. Add the crumble topping just before baking.
Can I add other fruits or mix-ins? Definitely! Blueberries work best, but you can swap in raspberries, chopped strawberries, or even chocolate chips for a fun twist.

Instructions
- Optional if wanting a wood flavoring: Place a scoop of food-grade wood pellets into the wood pellet burner of your Ninja Woodfire grill. Remember to not use any wood pellets that are not food-grade safe.
- Turn on the Ninja Woodfire grill to the desired setting. For these pancakes the ‘bake ‘ setting is recommended.
- If using wood pellets, press the Woodfire Flavor Technology button. Next, set the heat to ‘Lo’ heat. Allow the Ninja Woodfire to Preheat. Be sure to not add food to the Ninja Woodfire until the display says ‘Add Food’.
- While the Ninja Woodfire is preheating, prepare the ninja woodfire blueberry muffins.

- To avoid lumps, slowly add the flour to the mixture. Mix until everything is mixed together and the batter is smooth with no lumps of pockets of flour. Set aside.

- Fill each liner of the prepared muffin pan ¾ of the way full.
- Sprinkle the topping over each muffin and only slightly press the mixture in.
