Recommended Muffin Pans For The Air Fryer
When I first started baking muffins in the air fryer, I could not find any pans that fit, so I used silicone muffin tins.
While these work in an air fryer, they tend not to hold the shape of a muffin and metal pans. So, you often end up with muffins that look like ski slopes. The air moves around and sometimes knocks over the muffin tins.
- I highly recommend investing in this tin. It will fit almost all air fryer oven models and most of the larger basket air fryers.
- AmazonBasics Reusable, Silicone, Non-Stick Baking Cups Liners – Pack of 12
- Oven-Safe Ramekins, Silicone Muffin Cups, Air Fryer Muffin Tin, Muffin Mold, Silicone Cups,
I do not recommend using paper liners, paper cups, or paper muffin cups in the air fryer as they may touch the heating element and cause a fire.
Recipe FAQs
An air fryer and a small convection oven are different and should not be swapped. An air fryer uses hot air to circulate all around the food. You will find that the air fryer cooks faster than a convection oven. It also provides a bit different texture than a convection oven.
You will want to start checking your muffins around the 10-minute mark. They will cook anywhere from 10-14 minutes. You will know when your muffins are done by sticking a toothpick in the center of the muffins, and they come out clean from the wet batter. Sometimes you might poke a blueberry, giving you a blue tinge, which is okay.
Yes! After baking, allow them to cool completely. Then, transfer them to a freezer bag or airtight container. Blueberry muffins can freeze for up to three months. Thaw them in the fridge overnight or defrost it in the microwave when ready.
I usually put the paper muffin cups into a metal muffin pan. Be careful when you use paper muffin cups because they can move into the heating element and catch fire if they move around. It is better to invest in silicone muffin cups.
