This Ninja Foodi Barbacoa Beef Recipe is going to take your taco Tuesdays to a whole other level! The pressure cooker lets you cook this beef without sacrificing too much moisture, which means the meat almost falls apart as you shred it. The custom spice blend adds a little bit of sweetness that pairs perfectly with the spice from the diced green chilis.

Barbacoa beef makes a great protein for tacos, burritos, and nachos. Its rich, savory flavor can be complimented by most of the taco toppings you already have in your fridge. One of our favorite ways to enjoy this beef is on a corn tortilla with some pico de gallo and freshly chopped cilantro.

Store your leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. If you store it airtight then the beef will be good for up to 5 days. You can reheat a plate of barbacoa in the microwave for 1 – 1½ minutes. Stop the microwave halfway through and stir the beef so it reheats evenly.

What other spices can I add to my barbacoa beef? In addition to the spices we use, you can use spices like onion powder, oregano, and chipotle chili powder. Chipotle chili powder will give your beef an extra kick while regular chili powder mainly adds sweetness. You can also add finely diced habanero peppers if you want to add some extra heat to your dish.

Can I freeze my barbacoa beef? Once you shred your beef, you can freeze it for up to 3 months. You’re going to want to let it cool to room temperature and then transfer it a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. Lay your bag flat in the freezer. The night before you want to enjoy the beef, throw it in the fridge and let it thaw. Once it is thawed out completely you can throw it all in a pot and reheat it over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warm. Don’t leave it on the stove for too long because we don’t want to cook off too much moisture.
