How To Make Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Recipe
Make the marinara sauce by heating the olive oil in a small pan or frying pan over small to medium heat.
Once the pan is hot, add the diced onions and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until translucent. Mix in the garlic, and sauté for an additional 30 seconds. Next, add in the tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and cook for another minute. Finally, add the diced tomatoes and leave to cook for 20 to 30 minutes—season with salt and pepper to taste.
STORAGE AND REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS:
If you have any leftover Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Recipe, let it cool to room temperature and then place it into an airtight container. This sauce will last in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
Reheat in the microwave or a small saucepan, heat until warmed through.
HOW TO FREEZE:
I love doubling or tripling this recipe for a quick and easy freezer sauce. Prepare as directed in the recipe card below, and then let it cool to room temperature. Spoon the sauce into an airtight container, being careful to leave about an inch of space at the top since the sauce will expand when it freezes.
This will last for about 2 to 3 months in the freezer; when you are ready to use the sauce, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS:
