Ingredients 

  • 10 cups bread cubes, stale
  • 1 lb sausage, crumbled and cooked
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking dish.
  • Toast 10 cups bread cubes if not already stale.
  • Cook 1 lb sausage until browned; set aside.
  • Sauté 1 cup onion and 1 cup celery in 1/2 cup butter until soft.
  • Combine bread, sausage, vegetables, 2 tbsp fresh sage, 1 tbsp fresh thyme, and 2 tbsp parsley in a large bowl.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups chicken broth and 2 large eggs; mix well. Add Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer to prepared baking dish; bake 35–40 minutes until golden.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
