How To Make Ahead

These are a perfect appetizer for game day, and the best part is that you can easily make these ahead of time, perfect for football season.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then place each potato skin on the prepared pan. Put the pan in the refrigerator and let it cool completely for about 1-2 hours. Once cooled, wrap each potato skin in plastic wrap and store it in an airtight container or zipper bag in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, bake the potato skins on a baking sheet at 400 degrees Fahrenheit in a microwave oven for 15 minutes or until warm. Or place them into the air fryer at 390 degrees F, and cook for 5-8 minutes.

How to Store Leftover Potato Skins

Oftentimes, you have a lot of leftover potato skins when you cook potatoes. The best way to store them is by placing them in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag and storing them in the refrigerator. They should stay fresh for up to three days and stored this way.

How To Freeze

If you want to store the potato skins for longer than three days, you can freeze them. Place the potato skins in an airtight container or resealable bag and store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, thaw the potato skins overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat them in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes before serving. This will help retain their crisp.
