Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Rockfish
Rockfish is a great option if you’re looking for an easy and healthy seafood dish. And you can make it even easier by cooking it in your air fryer. Here are the ingredients you’ll need to get started.
- Rockfish Fillets: Choose fillets between 5 ounces to 10 ounces that are about the same size, so they cook up at the same time.
- Seasonings: I used salt, black pepper, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and onion powder.
- Butter: Will keep your fish moist as it air fries.
- Lemon: Serve with lemon wedges
How To Cook Rockfish In Air Fryer
Start by preheating your air fryer to 360 degrees F for 3 to 5 minutes. Then place your fish into the air fryer basket, season with your seasoning, and add a pat of butter on each fillet. Add the lemon slices, for added flavor.
Air Fryer at 360 degrees F, and cook for 6 to 12 minutes, or until the cook is cooked, and the fish easily flakes, with a fork.
Fresh or Frozen: You can use either fresh, frozen, or partially thawed fish fillest for this recipe. The cooking time will vary slightly.
Crowding: For best results leave plenty of space around the rockfish, so it cooks up to perfection. Remember an air fryer works by hot air circulating around the food, cooking it to perfection. When you crowd the air fryer, the hot air will be limited, causing your food to be raw in some places and overcooked in other places.
Flipping: Depending on the air fryer that you own, you may need to flip your fish halfway during the cooking process. This will enable both sides to be fully cooked.
Timing: Since every air fryer cooks at a different rate it’s advised that you watch your fish as it cooks up, so you don’t end up with an overcooked or burnt piece of fish. Once you can easily flake your fish with a fork, you can remove it.
