Ingredients Needed

Ingredients needed for Air Fryer Honey Toast on kitchen table.
  • Bread- Use thick slices of bread. White bread works best for this recipe as whole grain breads require more moisture to thoroughly coat.
  • Eggs- Large eggs work best for this recipe. They don’t need to be at room temperature.
  • Milk- Any milk can work with this recipe. Whole milk will give it a more custard-like texture. You can use milk alternatives as well with similar results.
  • Honey- Honey is a great sweetener that uses natural sugar instead of added sugar. It also gives a distinct yet tasty flavor.

Air Fryer Honey Toast Recipe Tips

  • Use Thick Slices of Bread – Brioche or Texas toast work best for a soft, fluffy center with a crispy exterior.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer – Ensures even cooking and a golden, crunchy toast.
  • Don’t Overcrowd – Give each slice space so it cooks evenly and stays crisp.
  • Brush with Butter – Adds extra flavor and helps achieve a golden-brown finish.
  • Flip Halfway – Ensures both sides are evenly cooked and crispy.
  • Add Honey or Toppings After Cooking – Drizzle honey, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit just before serving for maximum flavor.
  • Serve Immediately – Toast is best enjoyed hot and fresh from the air fryer.

Storing, Freezing & Reheating Instructions

  • Storing: Store any leftover Air Fryer Honey Toast in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Keeping it sealed will help maintain its crispiness and flavor.
  • Freezing: To freeze, wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap or foil and place them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature or in the fridge before reheating.
  • Reheating: Reheat the toast in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes to restore its crispiness. You can also warm it briefly in the oven or microwave, though the air fryer gives the best texture.

Air Fryer Honey Butter Toast Recipe Faqs

What type of bread is best for honey butter toast? Thick, soft breads like brioche, Texas toast, or challah work best. They hold up well in the air fryer and create a fluffy interior with a crispy exterior.

Can I use margarine instead of butter? Yes, margarine can be used, though butter gives the best flavor and helps achieve a golden, crispy texture.

Can I make this ahead of time? You can prep the bread with the egg mixture ahead, but it’s best to air fry it right before serving to maintain crispiness.

How do I store leftovers? Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer to restore the crispy texture.

Can I add toppings? Absolutely! Try drizzling with honey, powdered sugar, cinnamon, or serving with fresh fruit for extra flavor.
