Easy Air Fryer Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe Tips
- Try to measure the ingredients correctly, especially the flour, as it’s essential to get the correct consistency with cookies.
- This recipe will work with any air fryer basket or oven model, including the specialty air fryers, the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crips Lid, and Mealthy Lid. The cooking time will vary slightly.
- Watch your cookies as they cook up since every air fryer cooks at a slightly different time. As soon as the edges start to brown, remove the cookies. The cookies will harden as they cool, so be careful not to overcook them.
- Keep the dough cool. As you cook a batch, I find that the cookies come out better with cold dough.
- Use a spoon or spatula and flatten your cookies down. They will cook better.
- For best results, use cookie parchment paper which is sold at Amazon.com
Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days to keep them soft and chewy.
- Freezing: Freeze baked cookies in a sealed container or freezer bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
- Reheating: Warm cookies in the air fryer or microwave for 15–20 seconds to refresh their soft, gooey texture.

Easy Air Fryer Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe Faqs
Can I use natural peanut butter for these cookies? Yes, but the dough may be slightly more crumbly. You might need to add a teaspoon of milk to help it come together.
Can I freeze the cookie dough? Absolutely! Scoop the dough onto a tray, freeze until firm, then store in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Cook straight from frozen, adding 1–2 extra minutes to the air fryer time.
Can I make larger cookies? Yes, but they may need 1–2 extra minutes in the air fryer and could be less chewy in the center.
Do I need to preheat the air fryer? Preheating isn’t necessary, but it helps cookies bake more evenly and get a slightly crisp edge.
Can I substitute chocolate chips with chunks or other mix-ins? Definitely! You can use chocolate chunks, peanut butter chips, or even chopped nuts for variation.
How do I store leftovers? Keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
