Pro Tips:

  • Measure your flour correctly! Adding too much will result in a dough that has no rise and lacks flavor.
  • Make sure you don’t over-mix the batter once it’s been combined with liquid ingredients, making for tough and dry cookies.
  • Chilling the cookie mixture is key if you want your cookies to be chewier and less doughy. Chill it for at least two hours before baking, or they will come out too soft!
  • Try adding chocolate chunks or roughly chopped pieces for an even more rustic appearance that takes up entire pools of space on your design.
  • Cookie dough is considered done when the edges start to brown, but it’s not fully set. The centers will still be soft and slightly sticky to touch; they should bounce back if you press on them with your hand or a fork.

HOW LONG CAN YOU STORE THE COOKIE DOUGH FOR?

The most common way to store your dough is in an airtight container in the fridge. However, there are other ways to keep your dough fresh longer.

To Freeze: Make sure that any containers are properly sealed, and then put them into a freezer bag or plastic wrap before putting them into the freezer!

HOW LONG WILL THE COOKIES KEEP FOR?

When you crave warm, fresh-baked cookies, it can be challenging to resist the temptation. But how long will those tasty treats stay fresh before they turn stale?

That depends on a few factors. Cookies made with butter and without leavening agents will keep longer than cookies that use shortening or eggs as their fat sources or contain baking soda/powder or baking powder. In addition, sugar content impacts cookie longevity: the more sugar in the recipe, the shorter its shelf life.

These cookies will last between 2 to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
