Air Fryer Everything Bagels – You can make this recipe in less than 15 minutes with just a few ingredients. We are using some of our favorite Trader Joe’s products like the Everything But The Bagels Seasoning Blend for this one!
Looking for an easy air fryer bagel recipe? These air fryer bagels are a game-changer! They’re made with Greek yogurt, no yeast needed, and you can whip them up in just 30 minutes. I love topping mine with Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning for extra flavor.
I started making these when we had a bread shortage in my area. With two hungry teenagers at home, I needed a quick bread solution. I was already making regular Greek yogurt bagels, so I thought, why not jazz them up?
We are really huge fans of Everything Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend in my family. My kids put it on everything, so using it on homemade bagels was a no-brainer.

Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Everything Bagels
Here are the simple ingredients, you will need:
- Self-Rising Flour: This is our base ingredient that helps our bagels puff up without needing yeast. Super convenient!
- Greek Yogurt: The secret to making these bagels so easy. It adds moisture and a slight tang, plus it helps bind everything together.
- 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Mix: This is where the flavor magic happens! It’s a mix of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and salt. It gives your bagels that classic “everything” taste.
- Egg: We’ll use this for an egg wash. It helps the seasoning stick and gives the bagels a beautiful golden color.
How To Make Air Fryer Everything Bagels
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Step One: In a large mixing bowl, mix the Greek Yogurt and Self-Rising Flour.
Step Two: Mix well, ensuring all the flour is blended into the Greek Yogurt.
Step Three: Roll out the dough into a long log, fold it into that classic bagel shape, and seal the ends by pressing them together.
Step Four: Place the prepared bagels in a single layer in an air fryer basket or tray. Make the egg wash in a small bowl (see recipe card for instructions) and brush the tops of the bagels with the egg mixture.
Step Five: Set the temperature to 350 degrees F, with a cooking time of 10-12 minutes (air fryer setting), and after 5 minutes, brush the bagels again with the egg wash, then sprinkle on the seasoning mix. Air fry your delicious homemade bagels for another 5 minutes.
Air Fryer Everything Bagels Recipe Tips
- Texture Expectations: Keep in mind these homemade bagels won’t be exactly like store-bought ones. They’re delicious in their own way!
- Don’t Overwork the Dough: Mix until just combined. Overmixing can make your bagels tough.
- Greek Yogurt is Best: Use Greek yogurt for its thickness. It helps your bagels hold their shape better than regular yogurt.
- Egg Wash is Key: Don’t skip the egg wash! It helps the seasoning stick and gives your bagels a beautiful golden color.
- Seasoning Strategy: Add some seasoning to the dough for flavor throughout, then sprinkle more on top for that classic look.
- Air Fryer Magic: Preheat your air fryer and don’t overcrowd the basket. This ensures even cooking and a nice rise.
- Watch and Adjust: Keep an eye on your first batch. Air fryers can vary, so you might need to tweak the time or temperature.
- Cool Before Cutting: Let your bagels cool for a few minutes before slicing. They’ll set up better and be easier to cut.
Air Fryer Everything Bagels Recipe Faqs
Can I use regular all-purpose flour instead of self-rising flour? Yes, you can use all-purpose flour, but you’ll need to add baking powder and salt. For every cup of all-purpose flour, add 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder and 0.5 teaspoons of salt.
Can I substitute Greek yogurt with another type of yogurt? You can use plain yogurt or a dairy-free alternative, but Greek yogurt provides a thicker consistency and richer flavor. Choose a yogurt with similar thickness for the best results.
How can I adjust the seasoning to my taste? You can customize the everything bagel seasoning by adding or reducing amounts of garlic powder, onion powder, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or even adding other spices like chili flakes for a personal touch.
How should I store leftover bagels? Store leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer or oven to restore their crispiness.
Can I prepare the dough in advance? Yes, you can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. Shape and air fry the bagels just before serving for the best texture and flavor.
What if my bagels turn out too dense? If the bagels are too dense, it may be due to overmixing or not enough leavening. Ensure you mix the dough just until combined and use fresh self-rising flour.
Can I make mini bagels using this recipe? Yes, you can shape the dough into mini bagels. Adjust the cooking time as mini bagels will cook faster than regular-sized ones. Check them frequently to avoid overbaking.
What if the bagels are not cooking evenly? Ensure you are not overcrowding the air fryer basket, as this can affect even cooking. Arrange the bagels in a single layer with enough space between them for proper air circulation.

Hi, I am loving your recipes, thank you for this fabulous site.
I am in Scotland so do not always have the ingredients, particularly the toppings and rubs so it is great when you give an alternative or how to make homemade.
Could you please tell me how many of these ‘Everything bagels’ you get from the amount of ingredients.
Great work. Thank you.
