Oven roasting potatoes is a great way to cook them, but this recipe is for those who don’t have an oven or want to save on energy. It’s also perfect if you’re camping and trying not to use the campfire for cooking! This recipe uses an air fryer and takes less than 30 minutes start-to-finish, with minimal work on your part. You can add any spices that you like, such as cayenne pepper or garlic powder.

This is a recipe that I came up with last night. It’s super easy and delicious! The best part is making it in your air fryer, which cuts down on time and calories. If you don’t have an air fryer, this works just as well in the oven or stovetop.

Can I use different potatoes?

Yes, you can use any potatoes for this recipe. I have made the same recipe with sweet potatoes, Yukon Potatoes, Red Potatoes, New Potatoes, and even Russett Potatoes.

Seasoning variation ideas:

These are so good with just a little salt, pepper, and butter. You can also try seasoning salt or garlic powder on the potatoes for more traditional flavors of ranch dressing mix! Paprika is another favorite ingredient, too- I recommend adding it at the end since its color fades quickly when cooking but has an amazing flavor all on its own as well.

Because potatoes are sometimes bland, you can flavor them with any number of seasonings. Try crumbling some sharp cheddar cheese right before cooking your potatoes for an amazing cheesy potato dish!

Paprika and Italian seasoning also go great together. In contrast, garlic powder really brings out the sweetness from sweet onions like red onion or yellow ones such as shallots or leeks if they’re used at all, which is optional but recommended because their flavors pair so nicely when paired up.

Topping Ideas:

The potatoes are a favorite around our house. I like to scoop out enough filling for four people and then spread it on top with cheddar cheese before adding green onions, bacon bits, or other toppings as desired! For an extra kick of flavor, we also enjoy dipping them in ranch dressing mixed with sour cream- really yummy!!
