Pro Tips

Here are some pro tips to help you make the best Air Fryer General Tso’s Pork:

  • Cut Pork Evenly: Make the pork as uniform as possible when cutting it into bite-sized pieces. This ensures even cooking and prevents some pieces from overcooking while others remain undercooked.
  • Pat Dry Pork: Before coating the pork with the sauce, pat the pork dry with paper towels. Excess moisture can prevent the coating from adhering correctly and produce less crispy pork.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheating the air fryer ensures that it’s at the optimal temperature for cooking the pork. This helps achieve a crisp exterior while keeping the pork juicy inside.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Arrange the pork pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not touching each other. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and prevent the pork from getting crispy.
  • Flip Halfway Through Cooking: Flip the pork pieces halfway through the cooking time to ensure they cook evenly on all sides and achieve a uniform golden brown color.
  • Adjust Sauce Thickness: If the General Tso’s sauce is too thick, you can thin it with water or chicken broth. If it’s too thin, you can simmer it for a few more minutes to reduce and thicken it.
  • Garnish Before Serving: Just before serving, garnish the air-fried Asian pork with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. This adds freshness, color, and texture to the dish, enhancing its overall presentation and flavor.

Following these pro tips, you can make deliciously crispy and flavorful Air Fryer General Tso’s Pork that rivals your favorite Chinese takeout!
