Cheeseburger Bombs
I’m always on the lookout for quick, satisfying meals for my family, and these bacon cheeseburger bombs hit the spot every time! While traditional deep fried versions are delicious, they’re not exactly the most wholesome choice. That’s why I love using my air fryer. It gives me all the crispy, cheesy goodness of a cheeseburger bomb without the extra fat and calories.
What I really love about these air fryer cheeseburger bombs is how versatile they are. You can easily adjust the ingredients to fit your taste — add extra cheese, throw in some pickles, or even sneak in a few veggies! And the best part? They cook up in just 12 minutes, making them perfect for busy days or when you need a quick snack.

You’ll need just a handful of ingredients, like ground beef, cheese, and biscuit dough, to make these cheeseburger bombs. You might already have everything on hand, but if not, check the list below for easy shopping.
For complete ingredients and quantities, as well as nutritional information, keep scrolling until you reach the bottom, where you will find a printable recipe card.
- Ground Beef: Lean ground beef works best, as it helps cut down on excess fat while still giving that classic, juicy cheeseburger flavor. You can also use ground bison, ground lamb, ground turkey, or chicken for a leaner option. I also love using ground Italian sausage and chorizo, which add some heat to the dish.
- Steak Seasoning: I use my favorite, Montreal Steak Seasoning, but any steak seasoning in your pantry will work.
- Bacon: You can use AIR FRYER TURKEY BACON or even use AIR FRYER CARAMELIZED BACON for this recipe.
- Biscuits: I use flaky Grands Biscuits, which tend to hold their shape better than regular store-bought biscuits.
- Cheddar Cheese: For the best results, grate your own cheese as pre-shredded cheese often contains additives like wood pulp, which can affect melting.
How To Make Air Fryer Cheeseburger Bombs
Learn how to make these delicious bacon cheeseburger bombs with my simple, step-by-step guide below. It’s quick, easy, and fun to follow along!
Step 1: Cook the ground beef
Add ground beef and steak seasoning to a large skillet. Cook over medium heat until the meat is fully browned and cooked through.
Step 2: Prepare the filling
Drain the ground beef, then fold in the cooked bacon. Divide each biscuit in half, place about one tablespoon of filling in the center of each piece, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
Step 3: Seal the edges
Carefully pull the edges of the biscuit dough around the filling, pinching the seams tightly with your fingers to seal. Make sure the filling is fully enclosed to keep the cheese from melting out during cooking.
Step 4: Air fry (or bake)
Place the bombs into the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one. Set the temperature to 320 degrees F and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Note: To use your oven to make this bacon cheeseburger bombs recipe, preheat to 375 degrees F and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Step 5: Serve
Serve the cheeseburger bacon bombs with your favorite burger toppings—try dipping them in ketchup, mustard, or even ranch for extra flavor.
How to Store
If you’re a fan of cheeseburger bombs, you know they can be tricky to store as the meat and cheese tend to fall apart. But with a little prep, you can keep these tasty bombs for later!
Let the cheeseburger bombs cool to room temperature, then store them in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. They’ll stay fresh for 2 to 3 days. When ready to enjoy, reheat in the microwave or air fryer until warm.
To Freeze
Let the bacon cheeseburger bombs cool completely to room temperature. Once cooled, place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and transfer the sheet to the freezer. Freeze until the bombs are solid. Then, move them into a freezer-safe container or bag. They’ll keep for 1 to 2 months.
To reheat, you can cook them directly from frozen in the air fryer or microwave, or thaw them overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Cheeseburger Bacon Bombs Pro Tips
- Don’t Overcrowd: For the best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Leaving about 1 inch of space around the cheeseburger bombs allows the dough to cook evenly and come out perfectly golden.
- Flip Halfway: Depending on your air fryer, you may need to flip them halfway through cooking. This ensures both sides turn golden brown and cook evenly.
- Cooking in an Air Fryer Oven: If you’re using an air fryer oven, simply place the tray on the lowest shelf. This ensures the inside cooks through without the top becoming too brown.
- Seal the Seams: Use your fingers to pinch the dough closed, ensuring the filling stays inside the cheeseburger bomb while it cooks.
- Use Parchment Paper: If the dough starts to stick, use a piece of parchment paper or a reusable silicone liner. This will help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Yummy Add-In Options: Feel free to add ketchup, minced onion, diced pickles, yellow mustard, or pickle relish.
