Air Fryer Bacon, Egg, and Gouda Breakfast Sandwich are an amazing treat! They are such a get way to make a homemade breakfast sandwich, right in the Air Fryer.
This was oh so good, and it only took a few more minutes to make that a frozen breakfast sandwich, and it tasted amazing. The best thing about you making your own breakfast sandwiches is that you control what you put into them. Today, I opted for bacon, gouda, and egg, but change it out for all of your favorites.
My kids love eating a hearty meal in the morning, and while we can opt for the frozen breakfast sandwiches, these are just as fast, and they are so good!

Bacon, Egg and Gouda Breakfast Sandwich
Like most people obsessed with their air fryers, I usually see something and say I can make that in my air fryer. So, when my son wanted to order a 7 dollar sandwich at Starbucks, I thought, I could make that!
While the Starbucks version is made on an artisan roll or ciabatta, I opted for regular whole-grain toast, which is easier for my kids to eat. Same layer of bacon, gouda, and egg. However, I used a fried egg, while the traditional Starbucks version has a baked egg. Either would work.

How To Make Air Fryer Bacon, Egg, and Gouda Breakfast Sandwich
Start by buttering your bread, both pieces (only one side on each side of bread)
In your air fryer basket or on your air fryer tray, set the butter side down for the piece of bread holding the cheese and the butter side up with the empty piece of bread. This way, each gets toasted, and the cheese melts.
Meanwhile, I made bacon in my other air fryer and fried an egg on the stove. But both can be done in the same air fryer. I didn’t want the bacon grease to go on my bread.
Here are tips on frying an egg in the air fryer
Once your bread is toasted, add the bacon layer on top of the cheese and top it with an egg.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST AWESOME EGG SANDWICH
- Wait until the cheese is completely melted before removing the toast.
- For best results, assemble the sandwich and then put it back into the air fryer for a couple of seconds so everything melts together.
- Use a bit more butter than you think you should. The butter melts into the bread and causes it to be amazing.
- Change out the bacon for sausage. I went with a Copycat Starbucks Recipe, but you can use whatever cheese you want.
- Frying eggs, leave it a bit run in the center, so when you bite into the bread, it oozes out. This is great if you are serving it to someone.
CAN I MAKE AHEAD AND FREEZE A BATCH OF SANDWICHES?
Yes, this is a great recipe to make and freeze. However, I would switch out the fried eggs for baked eggs. Fried eggs will not freeze well.
So, make a batch, double or triple the recipe, and then place them into a freezer bag and reheat them in the air fryer.
SOME OTHER BREAKFAST SANDWICHES OPTIONS:
One of the best things about making your sandwich at home is that you can really have it any way that you like it. Here are some quick suggestions to make a different sandwich:
- Meat: Change out the meat for sausage or Canadian Bacon.
- Eggs: Use a baked egg or scrambled eggs.
- Cheese: Change out the cheese for any type, some of my favorites, Swiss, cheddar, etc.
- Bread: Use Ciabtata, Artisan bread, or sourdough. Even a bagel would work here.
