Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola

I love making a great and healthy snack for my family in the Air Fryer, and this one is no different. Today I surprised my kids with a hearty after-school snack with Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola.

Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola

I have been making granola for a while and recently have fallen in love with making them in the air fryer. If you like them nice and super crunchy, make sure it is golden when you take them out of the air fryer.

If you have never made granola before, this is a great and easy recipe to start with. And with either packing it away for a camping trip, a camp for the kids, or even as a lunch-box treat, this will soon become one of your favorite things to make in the Air Fryer.

If you are looking for some more Kid-Friendly Air Fryer Recipes, some of my favorites are AIR FRYER BUTTERMILK CHICKEN TENDERS, AIR FRYER QUESO (MEXICAN CHEESE DIP), AIR FRYER DESSERT NACHOS, and AIR FRYER MINI TACO BOWLS.

What Is Granola?

Granola is one of those superfoods that can be served either as a healthy breakfast or a healthy snack option.

Granola is usually prepared with rolled oats, honey, nuts, and brown sugar, and today, I added some chocolate chips and chia seeds for a great batch.

Typically, granola is baked, but with my air fryer, you can make this anytime, especially during the summer, and your kitchen will not get hot! And of course, if you are traveling this summer and you are bringing your Air Fryer with you, this is a great and fun meal to prepare!

Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola

Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Chopped Pecans
  • Chia Seeds
  • Salt
  • Old-Fashioned Oats
  • Maple Syrup
  • Olive Oil
  • Pure Vanilla Extract

How To Make Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola

Ingredients for Chocolate Chip granola in bowl

Line a 6-inch cake pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Mix all your dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: chocolate chip, pecans, chia seeds, salt, and old-fashioned oats. Mix well until you have an even distribution of all ingredients. Add oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all dry ingredients are coated.

*NOTE* For this step, I like to use a fork as it is easier to coat all oats.

Chocolate Chip Granola Pan Into Air Fryer

Once all coated, pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan. Push down with a fork so nice and compacted.

*NOTE* If you don’t have a pan that fits your air fryer, you can put the mixture into the basket and cook it that way.

Make sure it is completely cool when you take it out of the basket. I put about one teaspoon of vegetable oil into a paper towel and rub it down the basket if you do so. It will make it easier when you take the granola out.

Cook on manual at 320 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Once it is done nice and golden, take the pan out of the air fryer basket and let it cool completely.

Once cool, break into pieces and keep in an airtight container.

CAN YOU MAKE HOMEMADE GRANOLA IN THE AIR FRYER

Yes, this is an easy recipe to make in the air fryer. You can change it in so many ways.

My son loves it when I add some dried fruits into the mix, and you can add dried blueberries or mangos to make it extra special. This recipe is one of the best to get the children involved in cooking!

WHAT DO YOU EAT WITH AIR FRYER CHOCOLATE CHIP GRANOLA

One of the best things about granola is you can eat it with anything, and it goes well with so many foods. Some of my favorites are:

  • Cereal, add some milk. Whether, Oat, Almond, and Skim all work well.
  • Yogurt: a great mix of yogurt, Greek yogurt, or even dairy-free yogurt.
  • Smoothies
  • Fresh Fruit

HOW LONG WILL AIR FRYER CHOCOLATE CHIP GRANOLA LAST?

If you are looking for a great treat or snack that you can make ahead of time, this is one of my favorites. I love making homemade granola in my air fryer, and it will last for about two weeks.

To keep Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola at its peak, I recommend that you keep it stored in an airtight container.

Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Granola

IS GRANOLA KETO-FRIENDLY

This is not a KETO or Low-Carb Friendly snack due to the high number of carbohydrates found in chocolate chips, old-fashioned oats, and sugar.

However, if you wanted to make a KETO-Friendly Air Fryer Granola, I would find some great alternatives since granola does so well in the air fryer!

IS GRANOLA VEGAN?

You can easily make this recipe vegan by making a few switches and picking up vegan alternatives.

One of my favorite Vegan Rolled Oats would be by Bob’s Red Mill.

WHAT NUTRIENTS ARE IN GRANOLA

Granola is so popular with athletics and professional athletes because they are very high in nutrients.

They are also high in protein and fiber, which means that this is a great breakfast option to keep the family full until lunch.
