- Salt & Pepper
How To Make Air Fryer Asparagus Puff Pastry Bundles

Roll out the puff pastry sheet out to a rectangle about twice it’s size. Cut the puff pastry into 6 equal pieces, using a pizza cutter, or a sharp knife. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and salt and pepper to taste.

Place the asparagus spears diagonally across the center of each cut piece of pastry and top each one with 2 to 3 tablespoons of grated mozzarella cheese.

Fold free edges over the filling, forming a bundle. In a small bowl, beat the egg well to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of each bundle with egg wash and sprinkle with the Romano Parmesan cheese.
Place the bundles into the air fryer basket and cook in the air fryer at 370 degrees F, air fryer setting for 6-7 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

Puff Pastry Air Fryer Recipes
Puff pastry does amazingly well in the air fryer. The hot temperature really does well with the dough. I have made so many family favorites with the air fryer and puff pastry. Some of my kid’s favorites Air Fryer Fried Dough, Air Fryer Puff Pastry Donuts, and my husband’s absolute favorite, Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Apple Puff Pastry, which is impressive.
This recipe for Air Fryer Asparagus Puff Pastry Bundles is no different. The puff pastry did a fantastic job at puffing and makes for a great side dish or appetizer.
What Is Puff Pastry?
Depending on where you live, you might or might not have heard of puff pastry. It’s a frozen dough sold in American Grocery Stores and during the holiday season at Trader Joe’s.
It is made from laminated dough with dough, butter, and other fats. It is so easy to use because it’s already made for you, and it’s already rolled out.
If you can not find it, it’s usually sold in the frozen foods aisle, near the frozen bread products and pie crusts.
What Can I Use Other Than Puff Pastry?
You can always substitute biscuits (premade dough) from the dairy section if you cannot find puff pastry.
But a note of warning, you will not get eh same flaky exterior.
If you are from out the United States, I recommend using phyllo dough since it is globally sold.

How To Use Puff Pastry
Using puff pastry is very easy. The key to using it is that you need it to thaw correctly. There are two ways to thaw it, using the refrigerator method and using the counter method (I know, not very technical terms, but you probably can tell what the method is by their name)
The best way to defrost puff pastry dough is to place it into the refrigerator, about 2 to 3 hours. This does a great job at keeping your dough cold, which is vital for rolling.
If you are in a hurry, the other method is to leave it on the counter. The problem with that is that you will notice that your dough will be gooey if you wait too long. Unfortunately, the gooey dough does not puff up as much as cold dough.
Can I Make This Ahead of Time?
Many of you try to find appetizers and side dishes that you can make ahead of time. Unfortunately, these do not do well, as they sit around.
For best results, I would assemble these right before serving.
