  • Tomatillos: These green, tomato-like fruits are the base of salsa verde, providing a tangy and slightly citrusy flavor. They add a fresh and zesty taste to your salsa.
  • Serrano Peppers or Jalapeño Peppers: For a bit of heat, jalapeños are added. You can adjust the amount based on your spice preference to ensure the salsa has the perfect kick.
  • Garlic: Garlic adds a robust and savory depth to the salsa verde. It enhances the overall flavor profile with its aromatic richness.
  • Onion: A small onion contributes sweetness and complexity to the salsa verde. It balances the tanginess of the tomatillos and the heat of the peppers.
  • Lime Juice: Lime juice brings a bright, acidic note to the salsa verde, enhancing its freshness and balancing the flavors.
  • Cilantro: Fresh cilantro adds a herbaceous and slightly citrusy flavor, giving the salsa verde a vibrant and refreshing taste.

How To Store Air Fryer Salsa Verde

Salsa is a delicious way to season food. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stay fresh for long. Here are some tips on how to store salsa to enjoy it for longer.

Store in an airtight container and put the jar into the fridge or freezer if there is any leftover after your meal. You can also freeze salsa by pouring it into ice cube trays and freezing it until solid before transferring them all to a Ziplock bag with as much air removed as possible. Finally, add some lime juice or vinegar to your salsa – this will help preserve it!

Can You Freeze Salsa Verde?

Freezing salsa verde is a great idea! If you’ve ever found yourself with an abundance of salsa verde, you may wonder if you can freeze it. The answer is yes – you can freeze salsa verde for future use.

Let the salsa cool to room temperature, and then place it into an airtight freezer-safe container. Placed into the freezer, it will last for 2 to 3 months. When you are ready to use your salsa verde, place it in the refrigerator or keep it at room temperature until it’s thawed.

Salsa verde is a delicious Mexican sauce with tomatillos, chilies, and spices. It’s perfect for tacos, enchiladas, and burritos. But sometimes, it can be a little too runny. So how do you thicken salsa verde? There are several ways to do it.
