How To Make First Watch The Works Omelet

Whisked eggs mixed with bacon, ham, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese in bowl

Step 1: Whisk eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth and slightly frothy. Stir in cooked bacon, ham, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and shredded cheese so everything is evenly mixed.

Step 2: Lightly grease a heat-safe air fryer pan or silicone mold that fits inside your basket. Pour in the egg mixture and spread it out evenly so it cooks consistently.

Step 3: Set air fryer temperature to 300 degrees F, and set cook time for 8-12 minutes, checking at the 8-minute mark, until the eggs are set and the center is no longer runny. Let it rest for a minute before slicing so it holds together better when serving.

First Watch The Works Omelet Recipe Tips

  • Cook your meats first and let them cool slightly before adding them to the eggs. This keeps everything from getting greasy and helps the omelet set better.
  • Don’t overfill the egg mixture. It’s tempting to pack it like a breakfast burrito, but too many fillings will make it harder to cook evenly and flip cleanly.
  • Use a nonstick pan or well-greased air fryer pan so nothing sticks and your omelet slides out in one piece. A little butter goes a long way here.
  • Beat the eggs well until they’re slightly frothy. That extra air gives you a softer, fluffier omelet instead of something dense.
  • Cook on medium-low heat if using a skillet. Rushing with high heat will brown the outside too fast while leaving the inside undercooked.
  • Let the omelet rest for a minute before slicing. It helps everything set so you don’t end up with a messy plate.

Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructrions

  • Storing: Let the omelet cool completely, then store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Keep slices separated with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Freezing: Wrap individual portions tightly in plastic wrap, then place in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months. Freeze flat for easier storage and faster thawing later.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the microwave in 30-second intervals until warmed through, or use a skillet over low heat for a fresher texture. You can also reheat in the air fryer at 300°F for 3–5 minutes until hot.

Other Cooking Methods

  • Skillet Method: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and pour in the whisked eggs with all fillings mixed in. Cook slowly until the edges set, then gently fold and finish cooking until the center is fully set and fluffy.
  • Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 350°F and pour the omelet mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake for 18–22 minutes until the eggs are set in the center and lightly golden on top.
