Place a sheet of parchment into the air fryer basket. Using a small scoop or a tablespoon, drop the dough mixture onto the parchment leaving about a 1/4 of space between each one. Place the basket in the air fryer and cook the doughnuts at 350℉ for 15 minutes or until the tops of the donuts are golden brown and the centers a hollow. Pro Tips:

  • Filling Donuts: The easiest way to fill the donuts is to use a plastic squeeze bottle. Just insert the tip and fill the donut with the jam until you can feel it get a little heavier. The amount of jam you fill it with is up to you, but I like to aim for about 2 teaspoons of jam for each donut.
  • Spreading The Jam: If your jam is very chunky, you will need to run it through a food processor or blender so the tip of your squeeze bottle doesn’t get clogged. Use seedless jam if possible.
  • Hard Donuts: The donuts will soften as they cool.
  • Dough: This recipe is based on a standard recipe for cream puffs. After the dough is baked in the air fryer, it should be custardy and hollow in the center. You can fill it with just about anything!

These Hanukkah Jelly Donuts are best eaten at room temperature. They are best right after they come out of the air fryer.

I would recommend making this recipe the same day you plan on eating it.

What if I don’t have parchment paper?

If you don’t have parchment paper, you can use aluminum foil to line the air fryer basket. The recipe has enough butter in it to ensure the donuts don’t stick. There is no need to spray the parchment paper with any oil.
