What Is Red Velvet

If you are not family with them, you probably already know from their name that they are red donuts.

So red velvet batter is really a combination of cocoa, buttermilk, vanilla buttermilk, and vinegar. It is usually tinted with red food coloring or gel to get the classic red color.

What Does Red Velvet Taste Like

If you have never had red velvet, I would tend to start to say it’s almost like a chocolate cake but doesn’t have the distinct taste of chocolate. It’s a light flavor. Since you do not use a lot of cocoa powder, it is not that sweet.

One of the greatest fines that I found for the air fryer, was this silicone donut mold, which is regular size. What I did was cut them out, so they would fit into the air fryer basket.
