Air Fryer New York Style Chopped Cheese Recipe Tips
- Use fresh ground beef: For the best flavor and juiciness, choose 80/20 ground beef.
- Don’t overfill the air fryer: Cook in batches if needed so the beef cooks evenly and gets nicely browned.
- Cheese timing: Add the cheese near the end of cooking to ensure it melts perfectly without burning.
- Customize toppings: Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and hot sauce make each sandwich your own.
- Serve immediately: The sandwich is best hot and fresh for that classic melty, juicy experience.
Storing Instructions
- Refrigerate: Store leftover chopped cheese in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melty. Avoid the microwave for best texture.
- Freeze: You can freeze the cooked beef mixture (without bread) in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months; thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat in the air fryer.
