How To Make Instant Pot Keto Egg Bites

Keto Instant Pot Egg Bites Recipe Tips
- Use Silicone Molds: Silicone molds make it easier to remove the egg bites after cooking and help maintain their shape. If you don’t have silicone molds, you can use a heatproof dish lined with parchment paper.
- Grease the Molds: Lightly grease the silicone molds or dish to ensure the egg bites come out easily after cooking.
- Do Not Overfill: Fill the molds only about 3/4 full to allow room for the egg mixture to rise as it cooks.
- Add Ingredients in Moderation: To avoid overloading the egg mixture, stick to about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of mix-ins (cheese, vegetables, meats) per 6-egg recipe.
- Pre-Cook Some Ingredients: Cook meats (like bacon or sausage) and vegetables (like mushrooms or bell peppers) before adding them to the egg mixture. This ensures they’re fully cooked and adds better flavor.
- Mix Well: Whisk the eggs and cream thoroughly to ensure a smooth, uniform texture in your egg bites.
- Adjust Cooking Time: Cooking times may vary based on the size of your molds and the type of ingredients used. Start with 8 minutes on high pressure and adjust as needed for larger or smaller batches.
- Natural Pressure Release: Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for a few minutes before performing a quick release. This helps the egg bites set properly.
- Cool Before Storing: Let the egg bites cool slightly before removing them from the molds and storing them. This helps them maintain their shape and texture.
- Customize Seasonings: Feel free to adjust the seasonings (salt, pepper, herbs) to suit your taste preferences. Adding spices like paprika or herbs like thyme can enhance the flavor.
Instant Pot Egg Bites Keto Recipe Faqs
Can I make keto egg bites in advance? Yes, keto egg bites are great for meal prep. You can make a batch ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to a week. They also freeze well for up to three months. Just reheat them in the microwave or a toaster oven when ready to eat.
Can I use other types of cheese? Absolutely! Feel free to use any cheese you like, such as mozzarella, Gouda, or goat cheese. Just make sure it melts well and complements the other ingredients.
Can I use egg whites instead of whole eggs? Yes, you can use egg whites if you prefer a lower-fat version. However, egg whites alone might not be as rich or flavorful, so you may want to add a bit more seasoning or a splash of cream.
Can I make these egg bites without heavy cream? Yes, you can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk, but the texture may be slightly different. For a dairy-free option, use unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk.
How can I make these egg bites vegetarian? To make vegetarian egg bites, omit any meat (like bacon or sausage) and focus on adding vegetables, cheese, and herbs. Spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes work well.
Why did my egg bites come out rubbery? Rubbery egg bites can result from overcooking or using too much egg without enough cream. Ensure you’re using the right ratio of eggs to cream, and check the cooking time to avoid overcooking.
Can I cook these in a regular oven instead of an Instant Pot? Yes, you can bake egg bites in the oven. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the egg bites are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Can I add spices or herbs to the egg bites? Definitely! Customize the flavor by adding spices like paprika, cayenne pepper, or dried herbs like thyme and rosemary. Just mix them into the egg mixture for a burst of flavor.
How can I make my egg bites fluffier? For fluffier egg bites, ensure you whisk the eggs and cream thoroughly to incorporate air. You can also add a pinch of baking powder to the mixture to help them rise slightly.
What should I do if the egg bites stick to the mold? If your egg bites stick to the mold, try lightly greasing the molds before pouring in the egg mixture. If using silicone molds, ensure they are fully cooled before attempting to remove the egg bites.

These are super easy and very yummy. I probably added more ham & cheese than was called for, but who measures? I used a pretty salty Black Forrest Ham so probably didn’t add in a whole teaspoon of salt. Next time I might throw in some green onion if I have some around. But otherwise this is a keeper.

These look super spongy.
