How To Make Instant Pot Salmon and Rice
Begin by rinsing off the rice and pouring out the milky water that it creates. Add 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot.
Add a metal trivet/rack to the Instant Pot and place your salmon filet on it. Sprinkle with desired spices. Pressure cook the salmon and rice on high for three minutes. Natural release for ten minutes.
Allow the rice to cool completely or be stored overnight. Once cooled, add the salmon to a plate and roughly chop it up with your fork or spoon. Add the rice on top of the salmon but do not stir.
Add a single ice cube to the center of the rice. Cover with a paper towel or parchment paper and loosely tuck in around the rice and salmon.
Microwave for 2-3 minutes. The ice cube will NOT melt completely. However, you will find that it has steamed the ingredients and added moisture. Remove the leftover ice cube. Add soy sauce, a drizzle of Yum Yum sauce, and any other desired ingredients. Serve with loose seaweed sheets for picking up the salmon and rice.
