What Is An Air Fryer?
An air fryer is a small kitchen appliance that uses hot air to cook food. The device has a chamber where you place the food, and then a fan circulates hot air around the food. This cooks the food quickly and evenly, without using any oil. Air fryers are popular because they allow you to cook healthier versions of your favorite foods. They are also effortless to use, and cleanup is simple. If you’re looking for a new way to cook in your kitchen, an air fryer may be the perfect choice for you!
What Is A Turnover?
If you’re a cook, you’ve likely heard “turnover” before. But what exactly is it? A turnover is a pastry made of dough folded over a filling and then baked. The most common fillings are savory, such as chicken or sausage, but sweet versions with fruit or Nutella are also popular. They can be triangles or squares and are best served warm from the air fryer or oven. Though they may seem complicated, turnovers are easy to make and perfect for a quick and tasty snack or meal.

Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Strawberry Nutella Turnovers

- Puff Pastry Sheets
- Nutella
- Strawberries
- Egg
- Cooking Spray
How To Make Air Fryer Strawberry Nutella Turnovers

Spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray and set it aside. Slice your puff pastry sheets into four squares each (8 squares total). Spread a tablespoon of Nutella on the corner of a square.

Sprinkle diced strawberries over the Nutella.

Fold the square in half to form a triangle. Use a fork to press down the seams and seal. Slice an air vent in the center of the turnover. Repeat steps 3-7 with the remaining squares.
Brush the egg across the turnovers and place several in the bottom of the air fryer. Set the air fry setting to 340F and cook for 7-9 minutes, or until the pastry is cooked through and golden brown.

Allow the turnovers to cool before drizzling with the remaining Nutella. Serve and enjoy!

Pro Tips:
Crowding: You mustn’t crowd the air fryer basket to get the puff pastry to rise. The hot air needs to flow freely in between the spaces of the dough, which will help them crisp and get nice and crispy.
Flipping: Depending on what air fryer you own, you may need to flip your turnovers halfway through the cooking process.
Egg Wash: I used a simple egg wash, which helped the turnovers crisp up, but you can also use cooking spray, which will have the same result if you have an egg allergy.
Preheating: There is no need to preheat your air fryer. The result will be the same, with or without preheating.
Making Turnovers In An Air Fryer Oven: If you are making these in an air fryer oven, place the turnover on the bottom shelf or tray so that both the inside and outside are to perfection.
