Description

Flaky air fryer strawberry Nutella turnovers made with store-bought puff pastry, fresh strawberries, and a warm chocolate-hazelnut center. Four ingredients, ready in 19 minutes, no oven needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, finely diced
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line with parchment. Set aside.
  • Cut each thawed puff pastry sheet into 4 equal squares (8 total).
  • Spread about 1 tablespoon of Nutella over one half of each square, leaving a clean 1/2-inch border.
  • Scatter diced strawberries over the Nutella, about 1 scant tablespoon per square.
  • Fold each square diagonally into a triangle. Press the edges with your fingers, then crimp firmly with a fork.
  • Cut a small steam vent in the top of each turnover.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  • Air fry at 340°F for 7 to 9 minutes, in a single layer without crowding, until puffed and golden brown. Cook in batches.
  • Cool at least 5 minutes, then drizzle with warmed Nutella and serve.

Equipment

  • Pastry Brush
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

  • Keep the pastry cold. Warm dough will not puff.
  • Do not overfill — this is the main cause of turnovers bursting open.
  • Frozen strawberries must be thawed and patted very dry first.
  • Store 2 days at room temperature. Reheat at 320°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
