I am a huge fan of sheet pan dinners, they are so good, and the air fryer is the perfect place to make these. WIth only one pan to make at the end of the meal, how can you go wrong?

The air fryer also does a fantastic job at roasting vegetables, today, I added onions, apples, and butternut squash, but you can use any combination you like. That is the beauty of sheet pan meals.

The air fryer does a fantastic job of roasting the Italian sausages in this recipe. Then I added some great, easy, complimentary items to this sheet pan dinner.

I love roasted apples and love roasted squash, so they were the natural items to pair Italian sausages well. Still, you could add some roasted potatoes; if you wanted to, be sure to make them about the same size as the other vegetables so they all air fry together.

Air Fryer Sausages With Roasted Apples and Butternut Squash Recipe Tips

  • Choose Your Sausages Wisely: For added flavor, try using different types of sausages such as Italian, bratwurst, or chicken sausage.
  • Cut Ingredients Evenly: To ensure everything cooks evenly, cut the butternut squash and apples into uniform pieces.
  • Use Parchment Paper: To make cleanup easier and prevent sticking, consider lining the air fryer basket with parchment paper specifically designed for air frying.
  • Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: For the best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. This allows hot air to circulate around the ingredients, leading to better cooking and browning.
  • Check for Doneness: Always check the internal temperature of the sausages to ensure they are fully cooked. The USDA recommends a minimum internal temperature of 165°F for poultry and 160°F for pork sausages.
  • Adjust Cooking Time: Depending on the thickness of your sausages, you may need to adjust the cooking time. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
  • Add Seasoning: Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings like rosemary, thyme, or garlic powder to enhance the flavor of the dish.
  • Serve Immediately: For the best texture and flavor, serve the dish immediately after cooking while it’s hot and fresh.
  • Storage Tips: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
