Easy Nutella Pop Tart Recipe

Pop-Tarts are an American food in the same aisle as the cereal in most American Grocery Stores. Pop Tarts have been around since 1964, introduced first by Kellogg’s Brand. They were invented as a quick and easy breakfast alternative.

Several flavors are available, but Nutella is currently unavailable for sale. This is why making it yourself is fantastic and very simple.

What is Nutella?

Nutella is an easy ingredient. It’s found in the peanut butter aisle at your local grocery store.

Be aware that Nutella does contain tree nuts, as it is a hazelnut cocoa spread. It is of Italian origin but has been in the United States since the 1970s.

If you are allergic to tree nuts, a great alternative and nut-free version that you could use would be Cadbury’s Chocolate Spread, Don’t Go Nuts Chocolate Creamy Soy Spread, or Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip Spread.

Air Fryer Nutella Pop-Tarts Recipe Tips

  • Seal the Edges Well: When assembling the Pop-Tarts, press the edges of the dough together firmly with a fork to prevent the Nutella filling from leaking out during cooking.
  • Use Parchment Paper: Place the Pop-Tarts on a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer basket to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Cook the Pop-Tarts in batches if necessary, ensuring there’s enough space between them for air circulation. This helps them cook evenly and become crispy.
  • Check for Doneness: Air fryer models can vary, so check the Pop-Tarts a few minutes before the suggested cooking time to ensure they don’t overcook.
  • Cool Before Frosting: Let the Pop-Tarts cool slightly before applying any frosting or glaze.
  • Customize Your Filling: Feel free to experiment with different fillings besides Nutella, such as fruit preserves or peanut butter, to create your own variations.
  • Add a Crumb Topping: For extra texture and flavor, consider adding a crumb topping before cooking.
  • Keep a Close Eye: Since air fryers can cook quickly, keep a close eye on the Pop-Tarts to avoid burning them.
  • Use Pre-Rolled Dough: For convenience, you can use store-bought pre-rolled dough or pastry sheets.
