Easy Air Fryer Meat Pies Recipe Tips

  • Don’t overfill the pies: Overstuffing can cause the filling to spill out while cooking. Stick to about 2–3 tablespoons per pie.
  • Seal the edges properly: Use a fork to crimp the edges so the filling stays inside and the pies hold their shape.
  • Brush with butter: A light coating of melted butter on top gives a golden, crispy finish.
  • Check early: Air fryer models vary, so start checking for doneness at 5 minutes to avoid over-browning.
  • Customizable fillings: Swap the ground beef and sausage for chicken, turkey, or veggies for a different flavor twist.
  • Serve warm: These pies taste best fresh out of the air fryer but can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes if needed.

Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions

  • Storing Instructions: Keep leftover meat pies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. This helps maintain their crisp crust and savory filling.
  • Freezing Instructions: Place unbaked or fully cooked meat pies on a baking sheet and freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Freezing ahead makes them convenient for quick meals or snacks.
  • Reheating Instructions: Reheat in the air fryer at 330°F for 3–5 minutes for crispy results, or in the oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes. Avoid microwaving if you want to keep the crust flaky and golden.

Easy Air Fryer Meat Pies Recipe Faqs

Can I make these meat pies ahead of time? Yes! You can assemble them in advance and store them in the fridge for a few hours before cooking, or freeze them for longer storage.

Do I have to use both ground beef and sausage? No, you can customize the filling. Use only ground beef, swap with chicken or turkey, or even add vegetables for a different flavor profile.

Can I bake these in the oven instead of the air fryer? Yes, bake at 350°F for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown. Air frying gives a quicker, crispier crust.

Can I make them smaller or larger? Yes, adjust the size using different cutters or molds. Just remember cooking times may vary depending on size.

What can I serve with these meat pies? They’re great on their own or paired with a simple salad, dipping sauce, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

How To Cook Frozen Meat Pies In Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 330°F and place the frozen meat pies in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the crust is golden and the filling is heated through.

Reheating Meat Pies In Air Fryer

Set the air fryer to 330°F and reheat leftover meat pies for 3–5 minutes for a crispy crust. Check halfway to ensure they warm evenly without over-browning.
