Air Fryer Loaded Tater Tot Skewers Recipe Tips

Making Air Fryer Loaded Tater Tot Skewers is simple. Here are some great tips to help you every single time you want to make this recipe:

  • Overfill: Do not overfill the basket; otherwise, they will end up raw in some places and overcooked in other areas. You are looking for a single layer to circulate through the basket so that the hot air can circulate.
  • Batches: If you want to make many air fryer tater tots, you can always make them in batches.
  • Flipping: Depending on your air fryer, you may need to flip your tater tots during the cooking process. If you are using an air fryer basket, remove the basket from the air fryer, and shake the basket.
  • Oil: You should not need any cooking spray or oil for this recipe; the frozen tater tots have enough oil that no additional oil is necessary.
  • Making These In An Air Fryer Oven Model: Follow the same recipe, but put the tater tots on the lowest rack position. This way, both the inside and outside will cook up simultaneously.

Air Fryer Loaded Tater Tot Skewers Recipe Faqs

❓Can I use frozen tater tots? Yes! ❄️ Cook them straight from frozen—no need to thaw.

❓Do I have to use skewers? Nope! 🍴 You can make this without skewers by spreading the tots on a tray and topping them the same way.

❓Can I add different toppings? Absolutely! 🧀🥓🌶️ Try sour cream, jalapeños, green onions, ranch, or even diced tomatoes.

❓How do I keep the cheese from blowing off in the air fryer? Lower the temperature to 300°F when melting the cheese so it doesn’t blow around and melts evenly. 🔥

❓Can I make them ahead of time? You can prep the tots and skewers ahead, but for the crispiest result, cook and load them fresh. 🍽️
