Air Fryer Irish Potato Nachos are amazing. With the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday coming up, I wanted to treat my kids to a real Irish dish. Made with thin potato rounds instead of Nachos, this was a delicious treat for the entire family.
Is there anything better than a platter of Irish Tacos? This is really one of the best pub foods you can find in Boston. Especially when they have a huge parade, you will find these in every restaurant lining the parade route.
It is a great take on the classic loaded potatoes or a huge platter of Air Fryer Nachos.
If you have never had them, try them, I promise you that you will love them. Add your favorite nacho toppings. Today, I made them in my Ninja Foodi, but they are the same no matter what air fryer you use.

What Do You Need For Air Fryer Irish Potato Nachos
- Russet potatoes, sliced thin, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Olive Oil
- Sea Salt
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Cooked Bacon or Bacon Bits
- Sour Cream
- Salsa
- Guacamole
- Jalapenos
How To Make Air Fryer Irish Potato Nachos

Start by slicing your potatoes, either with a mandolin or with a sharp knife. You want them all sliced about the same thickness. So they all cook at the same time. I used 1/4 inch thick.
Add the potato slices to a large bowl, add the olive oil, salt, black pepper. Make sure that all of your potatoes are coated so they all crisp up.

Pour your potatoes into a pan and then set the pan into the air fryer, air fry, or air crisp for 15-20 minutes at 370 degrees F. I use tongs and flip my potatoes every 5 minutes, so they all get evenly cooked. If you have a basket air fryer, shake the basket several times during the cooking process.

Once the potatoes are crisped up, spread them onto a dish that will fit in your air fryer, spread the cheese on top, and place into your air fryer for 3-5 minutes, at 300 degrees F, air fryer setting, just long enough for the cheese to melt.
Garnish with your favorite toppings.

Some Common Questions Asked About This Recipe-
Do I Have To Use Russet Potatoes?
No, I choose them a lot in my air fryer recipes because they are relatively starchy potatoes and hold their shape during air frying.
Whatever potato you have on hand, the most important thing is to cut them equal thickness, so they end up cooked at the same time.
Can I Make Irish Potato Nachos In the Oven?
Sure, if you want a platter for a gathering or just to make a huge portion for your family.
To bake them, follow the directions listed below and then bake in a preheated oven at 425 degrees F for 20-30 minutes. I would use a pair of tongs and flip them while they are cooking.
What Toppings Can I Add To My Irish Potato Nachos?
I love to tell everyone to put their favorite Nacho toppings on, and of course, use whatever you have in the house. Some of my favorites and recommendations are:
- Sliced Avocados
- Cilantro
- Diced Onions (red or white)
- Sliced Olives
- Sliced Bell Peppers
- Scallions
- Bacon
Can I Make Air Fryer Irish Potato Nachos Ahead Of Time?
These are really best hot. But if you want to make the potatoes ahead of time, that would be awesome, then reheat them before you add the cheese, in the air fryer.

WHAT IS A NINJA FOODI?
This year, a Ninja Foodi is so popular because it combines two appliances: the Pressure Cooker and an Air Fryer. It is very much like the new Instant Pot Lid. It changes out the lid for each function, one lid for the Pressure Cooker and one lid for the Air Fryer.
