How To Make Air Fryer Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Mashing ripe bananas with butter in a large mixing bowl until smooth

Step One: In a large bowl, combine the bananas and butter. Mix until smooth and well blended. Fold in the granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

Step Two: Add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl. Stir until the batter is smooth and uniform. Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.

Step Three: Line your muffin tins with paper liners or lightly grease them with cooking spray. Fill each cup about two-thirds full with batter.

Step Four: Place the muffin tin in the air fryer and cook at 320 degrees F (160°C) for 10-12 minutes. Muffins are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, then carefully remove and let cool.

Air Fryer Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins Recipe Tips

  • Use ripe bananas: Overripe bananas add natural sweetness and extra moisture.
  • Don’t overmix the batter: Overmixing can make muffins dense instead of light and fluffy.
  • Check your air fryer: Cooking times may vary depending on your model, so monitor the first batch closely.
  • Fill muffin cups properly: About two-thirds full ensures perfect rising without overflowing.
  • Add mix-ins carefully: Fold in chocolate chips gently to prevent them from sinking or melting too early

Storing Instructions

  • Room Temperature: Store cooled muffins in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Refrigerator: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days; warm slightly before serving.
  • Freezing: Wrap muffins individually in plastic wrap or foil, then place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave briefly before eating.
