How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Quesadilla

Step One: Preheat your air fryer temperature to 375 degrees F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes.
Step Two: Lay one tortilla in the air fryer basket. Layer your ingredients on the tortilla. Start with a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese to cover the entire surface, followed by the cooked chicken and any optional fillings you desire. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper, and optional taco seasoning over the filling to season it to your taste.
Step Three: Place a second tortilla on top to create a sandwich-like structure. Lightly spray or brush both sides of the quesadilla with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.

Step Four: Carefully place quesadillas into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set cook time for 5-7 minutes, flipping it halfway through the cooking time. Remove the quesadilla from the air fryer and let it cool for a minute or two. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice it into wedges. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Air Fryer Chicken Quesadilla Recipe Tips
- 🍗 Use cooked chicken – Leftover rotisserie or grilled chicken works perfectly.
- 🧀 Choose melty cheeses – Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend melt best.
- 🌿 Season your chicken – Add spices like cumin, chili powder, or garlic for extra flavor.
- 🔥 Don’t overfill – Keep the filling balanced to avoid soggy quesadillas.
- 🫧 Lightly oil the tortillas – Brush or spray for extra crispiness and golden color.
- ⏱️ Check halfway through – Flip or rotate if your air fryer requires it for even cooking.
- 🥑 Serve with dips – Sour cream, guacamole, or salsa complement the quesadillas beautifully.
Storing & Reheating Instructions
🫙 Storing: Let quesadillas cool completely, then store in an airtight container or wrap tightly in foil. Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
🔥 Reheating:
- Air Fryer: Reheat at 350°F for 3–5 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Oven: Warm in a preheated 350°F oven for about 5–7 minutes.
- Microwave: Heat in 30-second intervals, but quesadillas may lose some crispiness.
What To Serve With Air Fried Chicken Quesadillas
Air Fried Chicken Quesadillas pair perfectly with a variety of sides and dips to complete your meal. Serve them with classic options like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping, or add a side of Mexican rice, black beans, or a simple corn salad for something heartier. For a fresh contrast, pair them with a crisp green salad or sliced avocado.
Air Fried Chicken Quesadillas Recipe Faqs
What kind of chicken should I use? Any cooked chicken works—grilled, shredded rotisserie, or leftover baked chicken all taste great in quesadillas.
Can I use corn tortillas instead of flour? Yes, but corn tortillas are smaller and may crack, so warm them first to make them more flexible.
Do I need to flip the quesadilla in the air fryer? It depends on your air fryer, but flipping halfway can help both sides crisp evenly.
Can I make these ahead of time? You can prep and refrigerate them uncooked, then air fry just before serving for the best texture.
How do I keep the cheese from leaking out? Avoid overfilling and leave a small border around the edges to help seal the quesadilla.
