How To Make Air Fryer Cherry And Nutella Stuffed French Toast

Step One: Whisk the eggs and milk together in a bowl and set aside. In a separate small dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
Step Two: Trim the crusts from the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin. Spread a teaspoon of Nutella on one end of each flattened slice, top with chopped cherries, then roll the bread and seal the edge with a little extra Nutella.
Step Three: Coat the bread roll by first dipping it into the egg mixture, then rolling it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture

Step Four: Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes. Lightly brush the basket with butter, place 4–5 coated bread rolls inside, and brush a little butter on top. Cook for 3 minutes on one side, flip, and cook another 3 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining rolls.

Air Fryer Cherry And Nutella Stuffed French Toast Recipe Tips
- Use sturdy bread: Thick slices hold the Nutella and cherries without falling apart.
- Trim and flatten bread: Removing crusts and rolling bread ensures even filling and easy rolling.
- Seal with Nutella: Dab a little on the edge to prevent filling from leaking.
- Even coating: Dip in egg mixture then cinnamon-sugar to get full flavor and crispy exterior.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Cook 4–5 rolls at a time for even browning.
- Brush with butter: Lightly buttering the basket and tops adds golden color and richness.
- Serve immediately: Best enjoyed warm to keep Nutella gooey and cherries soft.
Storing, Freezing and Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Place leftover French toast in an airtight container or a zip-top bag once it has cooled completely. It will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freezing: Flash-freeze the individual pieces on a baking sheet for an hour before transferring them to a freezer-safe bag to prevent sticking. These can be frozen for up to 2 months for a quick future breakfast.
- Reheating: For the best texture, pop them back into the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes until the Nutella center is melted and the bread is crisp. Avoid the microwave if possible, as it can make the stuffed bread slightly soggy.
