Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Caramel Apple Danish
Here are the simple ingredients, you will need for air fryer apple Danish:
- Caramel Candies: Melted caramel candies add a rich, gooey sweetness that perfectly complements the apple filling.
- Apple Pie Spice: Apple pie spice enhances the Danish with warm, aromatic flavors that evoke the essence of homemade apple pie.
- Granulated Sugar: Granulated sugar sweetens the apple filling and helps create a delightful caramelized layer.
- Pure Vanilla Extract: Pure vanilla extract provides a deep, aromatic flavor that enhances the overall taste of the Danish.
- Cream Cheese: Cream cheese adds a creamy, tangy richness to the filling, balancing the sweetness of the caramel and apples.
- Golden Delicious Apple: Golden Delicious apples are used for their sweet and tender texture, making them ideal for a soft, flavorful filling.
- Crescent Dough Rolls: Crescent dough rolls serve as the base for the Danish, creating a flaky, buttery pastry that’s easy to work with.
- Caramel Sauce: Drizzling caramel sauce over the finished Danish adds an extra layer of indulgent sweetness and a glossy finish.
How To Make Air Fryer Caramel Apple Danish
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Start by chopping the caramels up into smaller pieces. Set them aside and chop the apple into small pieces as well- discarding the stem, core, and seeds. Place the caramels, apple pie spice, and granulated sugar in a bowl.
Next, add the vanilla extract and the softened cream cheese to the bowl. Add the chopped apple. Mix well with a spatula. Set aside. Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F, air fryer setting, then line the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper.
Cut the crescent dough into smaller pieces (About five inches across or so, you can make them as big or as small as you like – this will determine how many Danish you end up with, though.) Then form each crescent dough piece into round flat Danish shapes, rolling up the edges like a crust. Place each piece on the parchment paper. You don’t want them to overlap or touch. (You may have to do more than one batch. I was able to fit four Danish in at a time. )
Place a heaping scoop of the caramel apple mixture right in the middle of each crescent dough piece. Place the air fryer basket into the air fryer and “air fry” the Danish for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Once they’re fully cooked, remove them from the air fryer & allow them to cool for a few minutes. Then, drizzle each with the caramel sauce.
