Description

Flaky crescent dough filled with sweet cream cheese, diced apple, and melted caramel, air fried until golden and drizzled with caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 soft caramel candies, about 2 oz, chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Golden Delicious apple, cored and finely diced
  • 8 ounces refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • tablespoons caramel sauce, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Chop the caramels into small pieces. Core and finely dice the apple.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sugar, apple pie spice, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Fold in the diced apple and chopped caramels. Set aside.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F on the air fry setting. Line the basket with parchment paper or spray lightly with cooking spray.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and pinch the seams closed. Cut into pieces about 5 inches across.
  • Flatten each piece and roll the edges up to form a shallow rim.
  • Spoon a heaping tablespoon of filling into the center of each, keeping it inside the rim.
  • Arrange in the basket without touching. Air fry 6 to 8 minutes, until deep golden brown. Repeat with remaining danish.
  • Cool 5 minutes, then drizzle with caramel sauce and serve warm.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

Filling can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated. Chilled filling is easier to portion. If your air fryer runs hot, drop to 350°F and add 2 minutes.
