Air Fryer Buffalo Ranch Chickpeas Recipe Tips

  • Rinse and Dry Chickpeas: Thoroughly rinse and pat dry canned chickpeas before air frying to ensure they become crispy. Removing excess moisture helps achieve that perfect crunch.

  • Season Generously: Toss the chickpeas in a mix of buffalo sauce and ranch seasoning for bold flavor. Adjust the amounts according to your taste preferences for a milder or spicier kick.

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Arrange the chickpeas in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Overcrowding can lead to uneven crisping.

  • Shake or Stir: During cooking, shake the basket or stir the chickpeas halfway through to promote even crisping and prevent them from sticking together.

  • Adjust Cooking Time: Cooking times may vary depending on the size and type of your air fryer. Check the chickpeas regularly to avoid burning and achieve your desired level of crispiness.

  • Cool Before Storing: Allow the chickpeas to cool completely before storing them. This helps maintain their crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

Can I use dried chickpeas instead of canned? Yes, you can use dried chickpeas, but they need to be cooked and thoroughly dried before air frying. This process requires soaking and cooking them first.

How do I make the chickpeas less spicy? To reduce the spice level, use less buffalo sauce or mix in a bit of ranch seasoning to balance out the heat. Adjust the quantities to suit your taste.

How do I store leftover chickpeas? Store leftover chickpeas in an airtight container at room temperature. They can stay crispy for a few days, but are best enjoyed fresh.

Can I make these chickpeas ahead of time? Yes, you can prepare them ahead of time. Store them in an airtight container, and reheat briefly in the air fryer to regain crispiness if needed.

What if my chickpeas are not getting crispy? Ensure they are well-dried before cooking and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. You can also try increasing the cooking time slightly for extra crispiness.
