Taco Bell Crispitos Recipe Tips

  • Crowding: For best results do not crowd your air fryer. Otherwise, the churro chips will not cook up correctly. You really want to leave plenty of space around the chips so they cook up perfectly.
  • Flipping: Depenyour air fryer you own. You may need to flip the chips so both sides get cooked to perfection. You can either use a fork or tongs.
  • Timing: Since every air fryer is slightly different, the cooking time will vary. So remember to check on your chips as they cook up.
  • Lining Your Basket: Today, I used some aluminum foil. You can also line your basket with parchment paper or a disposable air fryer liner.

Storing Instructions

Let the crispitos cool completely before storing. Place them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. To keep them crispy, layer with parchment paper and avoid stacking too tightly. If they soften, reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 1–2 minutes to restore crispiness.

Taco Bell Crispitos Recipe Faqs

Can I use corn tortillas instead of flour? Flour tortillas are best for this recipe because they get crispy without cracking, but corn tortillas can work—they’ll just be crunchier and slightly more fragile.

Can I bake these instead of air frying? Yes! Bake them at 375°F for about 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.

How do I make them extra crispy? Make sure the tortillas are evenly coated in butter and not overcrowded in the air fryer. Cook in a single layer for best results.

Can I make these ahead of time? Yes—store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes to crisp them back up.

What dipping sauces go well with Crispitos? They’re great on their own, but try dipping them in chocolate sauce, dulce de leche, or even whipped cream for a fun twist!
