Today, I went with a classic blend of the ingredients found on the web. I believe this is a great copycat recipe, and it tastes just like the one you would store buy! It’s so good, and most of the ingredients are lurking in your spice cabinets!

The ones I included are:

  • Bay Leaf Powder
  • Celery Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Ground Ginger
  • White Pepper
  • Ground Nutmeg
  • Ground Cloves
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Ground AllSpice
  • Sweet Paprika
  • Ground Mace
  • Ground Cardamom
  • Dry Mustard
  • Ground Cinnamon

Does it really taste like Old Bay?

Yes, I think f you had a taste test, you would not be able to tell the difference. If you want to make your seasoning blends, this is an excellent substitute, or you can not find Old Bay in your area.

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons  bay leaf powder
  • 2 tablespoons  celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon  dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons ground pepper (black)
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mace
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a bowl, and mix well.
  • For best results, keep in an air-tight container until ready to use.
