In a large bowl, blend the sou cream and mayonnaise. Then add in the onion, parsley, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
Cover and place into the refrigerator for about an hour so that the flavors can develop.
Substitutions/Variations:
Onions: While today, I used freshly diced onion and diced it, you can easily substitute them for dry minced onion (1 tablespoon) or onion powder (1/2 tablespoon)
Mayonnaise: If you do not want to use mayonnaise, substitute it for the same amount as Greek Yogurt.
What homemade French Onion Dip tastes like
French Onion Dip is an amazing blend of flavors. While you would think that it would taste really oniony, it doesn’t.
It’s a blend of the creamy, and the onion provides some flavor, but the real flavors come from the blend of spices and sauces. The Worcestershire sauce really enhances the flavor of the onions, parsley, and other spices. And it makes for a creamy dip!
HOW LONG CAN YOU KEEP HOMEMADE FRENCH ONION DIP?
This dip is great for about 3 to 4 days, as long as you store it in an airtight container and place it into the refrigerator.
Mix and add some fresh chives or parsley before re-serving for some added freshness.
