Everyone loves Monkey Bread, I have not met one person, that when I offered them a piece, they shook their heads and said, no I’m all set. My son Ethan loves bread, I mean he could live on bread alone. My other son Jason, could take it or leave it, but he loves Garlic Knots, so this is what I came up with.
Now, if you have been following my blog for a while, you know I am all about real food for real people, you will never need to head to an obscure store for ingredients, and not know what they are. I am not about that, I am about making food for your family and friends, real people=real food.
These garlic monkey bread knots biscuits are no different. These are easy biscuits, that have garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and I would call them a baking hack if I am allowed to call my stuff that.
If you are not familiar with Italian Seasoning, it is really just a blend of different herbs that are from the Italian region, the spice blend mostly includes, oregano, sage, rosemary, thyme, and other herbs and spices. For the top layer of this biscuit, you simply add the cheese and more garlic, ok, I like garlic powder. You can omit that if you don’t want it overly garlicky.

Making bread is easy, I used to make it a lot when my kids were little, and I had a fancy bread machine. Now, that I am armed with an air fryer, and I love to experiment, I tried this today and the results were amazing.
The house smelled wonderful, there is nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread coming from the air fryer. My kids always come running to grab a slice while they are nice and hot and the butter just melts into it. Can you picture it? I told my son, Jason that I would work on making homemade butter in the coming weeks, so be on the lookout for that recipe. I promise you, it’s easier than it sounds, it is so easy you won’t believe it.
When I was a small child, my mother and grandmother would always bake bread, did I mention I am old? I come from an old-fashioned Italian household, where everything was made from scratch, so it’s not surprising I went into the “food business.”
Baking powder biscuits are just as the name says, it’s an old-fashioned classic American biscuit that is light and soft. My mother used to make them so she could split it open and use the leftover biscuits for sandwiches the next day. My kids eat them with a slab of butter in the middle, and in my house, there are no leftover biscuits.
You can serve it at breakfast with ham, sausage gravy, here is a great recipe for that, here. You can also use the biscuits as a topping for chicken pot pie, or as a side with a nice hearty bowl of soup. And it also doubles for dessert, using it for strawberry shortcake, just spit it, add strawberries and whipped cream, and you are good to go.

Air Fryer, Air Fried, Cinnamon Sugar Glazed Biscuit Knots
- 1 package biscuits, found in the refrigerated section
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Start by laying out the dough (Biscuit)
Cut a spot down the middle, so you create 2 pieces of the dough, as shown
Roll the dough in your hands, so you create one long roll of dough, then tie a knot with the dough.
Brush the butter on the biscuit
Then dip it into the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Spray your air fryer basket with olive oil spray, so they don't stick.
As you coat them, place them in your air fryer basket.
Set the temperature to 350 degrees F, for 5 minutes. Check to see if they are cooked, if not, add a couple of minutes. It will depend on your air fryer, I do not like them overcooked, so I end my cycle at 5 minutes.
Plate, serve and enjoy!
