Every country has it’s own twist on the American version of toast and butter or jam. In other cultures, they top off toast with tomato and ricotta cheese, for a fat breakfast (Italy), in Australia, they top off bread with Marmite. Marmite for those who are not familiar with it, is dark, yeasty and sticky topping.
Making toast is one of the simplest ways that you can make yourself breakfast, but you can style it your way, but changing and altering the toppings. If you are going to be eating toast for your primary breakfast, try to choose a whole-wheat bread, or a protein-packed bread (Trader Joes, Whole Foods and a few of the other health food stores have them in stock) The protein-packed bread is usually made with oat, flax seed, sunflower seeds, and millet. Eating regular white bread for breakfast will not fill you up, as it only contains empty calories. Since the primary ingredients of white bread are refined grains. Typically the white bread is lower in fiber, than the healthy counterpart, it also has a high glycemic index, which your body processes like sugar. This will increase your risk of weight gain, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease, per research.
If you are gluten-free, this is an excellent breakfast alternative, just substitute the bread for gluten-free.
Try to top it with a fruit, and some protein. Protein will cause you to crave less during the day since it usually takes longer to digest than carbs. (toast). This recipe can be swapped out for any type of bread, English Muffin, Croissant, Bagels, etc.
Just lightly toast the bread in your air fryer.
Then spread the peanut butter on the bread.

Air Fryer-Peanut Butter Banana Toast
- 2 slices wheat bread
- 1 banana, sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
Start by placing your bread in the air fryer, set the time for 3 minutes, at 365 degrees F.
When the time is up, Spread the peanut butter on the toast, then drizzle honey over it, place the sliced bananas over them.
Place back into the air fryer, for about 30 seconds. (Same temperature, 365 degrees F.)
Plate, serve & enjoy!
