This is such a wonderful fall dessert. I love nothing better than a simple piece of Air Fryer 2-Ingredient Spice Cake along with a hot cup of coffee. It makes an amazing breakfast or a great dessert.
Usually, spice cake is served with a soft cream cheese frosting, but I personally thought this cake looked so pretty, it needed nothing. However, I should have dusted it with some powdered sugar, which is super simple.
This spice cake is moist and absolutely perfect, made with two simple ingredients, this might be the easiest recipe I have baked in my air fryer.

2 Ingredient Pumpkin Spice Cake
With only two ingredients, the spice cake mix, any brand and a can of pumpkin puree, you can make this fabulous cake in your air fryer oven or air fryer basket. The recipe will work exactly the same, but the size of your cake pan, will be dependent on the air fryer you are using.
Ingredients You Will Need For Air Fryer 2-Ingredient Spice Cake
All you will need:
- Spice Cake Mix, any brand
- Canned Pumpkin Puree
How to Make Air Fryer 2-Ingredient Spice Cake
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the spice cake mix and canned pumpkin puree. Stir until well combined. The batter will be slightly bubbly.
Use a baking pan that fits inside the air fryer, the pan that you will use, will be dependent on the size of your air fryer, you want air to be able to circulate around the pan. Lightly grease the pan. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Place the pan in the air fryer basket and cook at 320 degrees F (160°C) for 18-22 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake; it should come out clean.
Once cooked, remove the pan from the air fryer and let the cake cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Frost with your favorite icing or enjoy as is.
Note: The actual time will depend on the air fryer you own and your cake pan’s size. Larger cake pans will take longer to bake (air fry) than smaller ones. Depending on the size of your cake pan, you can make one cake or three mini cakes.
Air Fryer 2-Ingredient Spice Cake Recipe Tips
- You do not need to preheat your air fryer.
- Make sure to really spray your cake pan well, I always make sure to get the sides, so the cake does not stick.
- The best pan that works is a thin pan, even if you have to make 2 cakes it is better to use a thin pan rather than a thick pan. Any time you use a thick pan in the air fryer, you run the chance of the middle not cooking. If you have a Bundt cake pan, this is a great time to use it.
- To determine if the cake is done, simply insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean it’s done, if not give it a few more minutes.
