Making a slit along the pork tenderloin to create a pocket, then filling it with apple stuffing and securing the opening with toothpicks.

Step Three: Use a sharp knife to make a slit along the length of the pork tenderloin, creating a pocket for the stuffing. Carefully fill the pocket with the apple stuffing, securing the opening with toothpicks if needed.

Step Four: Place the stuffed pork tenderloin in the air fryer basket. Set cook time for 25-30 minutes at air fryer temperature of 375 degrees F (190°C), flipping halfway through. It’s ready when the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (65°C). Let the pork tenderloin rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Remove the toothpicks and serve with the remaining stuffing on the side.

Flavor Variations

  • Herbed Stuffing: Add fresh herbs like sage, thyme, or rosemary to the stuffing for a more aromatic flavor.
  • Cranberry Twist: Mix dried cranberries into the stuffing for a hint of tart sweetness.
  • Cheese: Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar or crumbled blue cheese into the stuffing for a richer, more indulgent filling.
  • Bacon: Wrap the stuffed tenderloin with strips of bacon before air frying for extra flavor and crispiness.
  • Savory Mushroom: Add sautéed mushrooms to the stuffing for a stronger umami flavor.

Expert Tips for the Best Air Fryer Stuffed Pork Tenderloin

  • Keep it Juicy: To prevent the pork from drying out, keep an eye on it when cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F (65°C).
  • Flip Carefully: Turn the tenderloin halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
  • Secure the Stuffing: Toothpicks are great for keeping the stuffing in place. Just don’t forget to remove them before serving!
  • Prevent Burning: If the top of the tenderloin browns too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  • Rest Before Slicing: Allow the tenderloin to rest for at least 5 minutes after cooking. This lets the juices redistribute, keeping the meat moist.
