There is nothing better for a quick and delicious lunch than Air Fryer Hot Dog Taquitos. They are so good and will soon be one of your family’s favorites!

These are some of the best recipes for Air Fryer Hot Dogs, and they are ready in no time. It is one of my kids’ favorite recipes, and they often make them for their friends when visiting.

First, if you have not made a hot dog in the air fryer, go to the store and grab a package. They are truly unique and taste like the ones you get at the ballparks.

Today, I wrapped them in a tortilla, smothered some cheddar cheese, and air-fried to perfection; they are so good!

If you are looking for even more AIr Fryer Sandwich Recipes, some of my favorites are AIR FRYER COPYCAT MCDONALD’S FILET-O-FISH, AIR FRYER HARDEE’S BIG HOT HAM ‘N’ CHEESE,  AIR FRYER ST. PATRICK’S DAY RAINBOW GRILLED CHEESE, and AIR FRYER GRILLED CHEESE PIZZA SANDWICHES.

Why You Will Love Hot Dog Taquitos

The simple reason is they taste amazing in the air fryer. I always make a batch for my kids during the winter in the air fryer rather than trek to the grill.

The second reason is it is so easy, and they come out perfectly in the air fryer. They are truly unique. They taste amazing they are nice and seared on the outside but really juicy and flavorful on the inside.

There is virtually no cleanup. You literally have to wash your basket or your tray; it’s that easy, and if you are like me, a busy mom, that is very important.

And the best part of cooking them in the air fryer vs. grill is if you want one, you cook for one!

Ingredients Needed For Air Fryer Hot Dog Taquitos

Remember the step-by-step directions and detailed ingredient list are below, in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, as well as the nutritional information.

  • Hot Dogs: You’ll need your favorite hot dog sausages. Feel free to use beef, pork, chicken, or vegetarian hot dogs.
  • Flour Tortillas: Choose soft and fresh flour tortillas for wrapping your hot dogs. Corn tortillas can also work if you prefer them.
  • Cheese: Use the shredded cheese of your choice. Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend work well.
  • Cooking Spray: A light coating of cooking spray helps the taquitos turn crispy in the air fryer.
  • Toppings: Gather your preferred toppings like salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or diced onions for serving.
  • Toothpicks: Toothpicks are optional but can be handy to secure the taquitos while they cook.

How To Make Air Fryer Hot Dog Taquitos

These taquitos are versatile, so feel free to customize them with your favorite ingredients. You can also experiment with different dipping sauces for added flavor.

  1. Prepare Your Hot Dogs: Start by cooking your hot dogs. You can grill, boil, or pan-fry them until they’re fully cooked and have a nice, slightly crispy exterior. Let them cool for a few minutes.

  2. Wrap the Hot Dogs: Lay out a flour tortilla, and place a hot dog in the center. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the hot dog.

  3. Roll the Taquito: Roll up the tortilla tightly around the hot dog and cheese, making sure the ends are sealed. If needed, secure the taquito with a toothpick. Repeat this process for as many taquitos as you’d like to make.

  4. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). This usually takes about 3-5 minutes.

  5. Spray with Cooking Spray: Lightly coat the taquitos with cooking spray. This will help them become crispy in the air fryer.

  6. Air Fry the Taquitos: Place the taquitos in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they’re not touching each other. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time. Keep a close eye on them to prevent overcooking; you want the tortillas to be golden brown and crispy.

  7. Serve: Once the taquitos are done, remove them from the air fryer. Let them cool slightly before removing any toothpicks. Serve your hot dog taquitos with your favorite toppings like salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or diced onions.

  8. Enjoy: Dig in and enjoy your delicious and crispy Air Fryer Hot Dog Taquitos! They’re perfect for snacking or as a fun meal option.

Some Pro Tips:

  • You can use either corn or flour tortillas. The key to wrapping them up is to heat the tortillas until they can be easily rolled.
  • You can use any cheese you want. I used shredded cheddar cheese, but you can use Mexican Cheese, Colby, or any of your favorite cheeses.
  • This recipe will work in all air fryer models, including Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, and Instant Pot Crisp Lid.
  • For best results, do not crowd the basket. Otherwise, the tortilla will not crisp up.
  • If you want, brush olive oil on the tortillas to help them crisp up.

Some Great Air Fryer Hot Dog Taquitos Toppings:

This is a great way to serve all of your favorite Mexican Toppings, including:

  • Sour Cream
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Guacamole
  • Jalapeno Peppers
  • Salsa
