Air Fryer Frozen Taquitos are a great and easy appetizer, snack, or lunch that you can easily be prepared in the Air Fryer in minutes!
If you love frozen taquitos as much as my kids, this is the perfect way to cook them up. They are so good, and you do not even need to wait for the oven to preheat! Saving you lots of time!
This is so good, and I have tested a lot of frozen taquitos out, so I will give you my favorites at the end because you might as well get the best ones available.

WHAT IS A TAQUITO?
If you have never had a taquito before, it’s a Mexican entree filled with your choice of filings, either ground beef, chicken, or cheese.
Then it’s rolled up and usually deep-fried. Today, we used our air fryer for a healthier way to cook them up!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TAQUITOS AND FLAUTAS?
The main difference is that taquitos are typically prepared with corn tortillas, while flautas are prepared with white tortillas.
Flautas are usually long and thin, while taquitos tend to be shorter and fill them in, making them fatter.
I would say that the frozen food aisle mostly calls them taquitos, so you may want to check a package out the next time you purchase one to see what you are actually getting. Since if you have a gluten allergy, you may want to only consumer corn products.
ARE FROZEN TAQUITOS PRECOOKED?
Yes, they have already been deep-fried, and then they are frozen after they are cooked. So, you are really only using the air fryer to thaw and cook up them or reheat them.
The key to air frying them up is to scatter them around the basket, and you do not want them to be touching each other. Otherwise, they will not cook correctly. For a crisp exterior, you need space in between them.

Start by preheating your air fryer to 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 4 to 5 minutes. Then add your frozen taquitos into the basket, set the time for 4 to 5 minutes.
DO I ACTUALLY NEED TO PREHEAT MY AIR FRYER?
For this recipe, it really helps you get a sear on the taquitos as soon as you set them into the basket.
You will end up getting a nice crispy exterior that you would not get if you did not preheat. So for this recipe, preheat your air fryer! It will be well worth it!

HOW TO STORE AIR FRYER TAQUITOS AFTER COOKING
For best results, cook them as you want to eat them. Otherwise, they tend to get soggy. But if you have any leftovers, place them into an airtight container and place them into the refrigerator.
You can also reheat in the Air Fryer, which will help you get some of the crisp back!
HOW TO REHEAT TAQUITOS IN THE AIR FRYER
Place the refrigerated taquitos into the air fryer basket, and set the temperature to 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, and air fry for 3 to 5 minutes, or until hot.
For extra crispness, spray the taquitos with cooking spray, which will help them crisp up slightly.
