How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Haddock

Step 1: Preheat your air fryer temperature to 400 degrees F for 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking and a crispy finish.
Step 2: Lightly spray frozen haddock fillets with cooking spray or brush with a little oil. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, or your favorite spices.
Step 3: (Optional) For extra crispiness, you can sprinkle panko breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes over the fillets and press gently to adhere.

Step 4: Place the fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them for proper air circulation.
Step 5: Set cook time for 12-15 minutes at air fryer temperature of 400 degrees F, flipping halfway through. The fish is done when golden, crispy, and flakes easily with a fork, with an internal temperature of 145°F.
Step 6: Remove from the air fryer and let rest 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or your favorite sides.

Easy Air Fryer Frozen Haddock Recipe Tips
- Don’t Thaw: Cook the haddock straight from frozen to save time and prevent soggy fillets.
- Light Oil Coating: Spray or brush a thin layer of oil to help seasonings stick and achieve a golden, crispy finish.
- Season Generously: Use salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, or your favorite spices to boost flavor.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Leave space between fillets so hot air can circulate, ensuring even cooking and crispiness.
- Flip Halfway: Turn the fillets midway through cooking for a consistent golden crust on both sides.
- Check Doneness: Haddock is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F internally.
- Optional Crunch: Sprinkle panko, cornflakes, or crushed crackers for an extra crispy coating.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy right out of the air fryer for maximum crispiness and flavor.
- Pairing Suggestions: Serve with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or a side of roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Storing and Reheating Instructions
- Storing: Place leftover cooked haddock in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let the fish cool slightly before storing to maintain its texture.
- Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 4–6 minutes until warmed through and crispy. Alternatively, bake in the oven at 325°F for 8–10 minutes, loosely covered with foil to prevent over-browning.

Used fresh haddock and followed the recipe exactly except for I didn’t have panko I use seasoned bread crumbs came out a little bit I don’t know heavy coat crust. I think I’m going to make it again but getting panko and that’ll probably lighten up the over crusty outside edge definitely easy and delicious.

Made this and my family and guests LOVED it. The only note I would make is my oven is an air-fryer and to get the same results I needed a much higher temperature, like 425.
Renee
Just tried this recipe – it was so yummy! Didn’t have Panko crumbs so I used italian bread crumbs instead. Followed everything else to a “T”. Will definitely make this again!! Thank you for posting this recipe.
Marsha Eichner
I used panko seasoned but eliminated the mayonnaise. Don’t need it. Still super delicious!
Linda
This was wonderful! I’ve been air frying for a couple of years but this is the first time I’ve tried to fry fish. I used thick-cut cod filets and added some additional seasonings to the panko. I also made it with gluten-free flour and gluten-free panko.
Holly
Ot was really good couldnt taste the mayo at all which I wouldn’t mind lol. Just seemed it was lacking some spice at least to me
Chris
I was doing a fish fry for the entire family, so scaled everything up by 4 and it came out great!! Everyone loved it, thanks for the great recipe!

Tonight was the third time we enjoyed this recipe! This time I added a few more ingredients to zip it up a bit. I put a little Frank’s Red Hot seasoning blend, a sprinkle or two of italian seasoning as a good amount of the panko I used was italian blended. I also put a little parsley in it too. This recipe is sooo delicious. We had to laugh how good it was because last night we ate out and the special was swordfish with bacon white sauce. It was absolutely pathetically horrible. Right away my husband commented that this fish is 200% better than the platters we had last night. As for fish I always use Islandic Haddock. It was so good and flakey even the poodle had some! She loves fish. Great job!

This recipe works perfectly with any white fish. I tried, flounder, haddock, and cod, delicious! Crispy crust , moist inside. Excellent recipe.
Renee
WOW! Really delicious recipe, thank you! The mayo is a home run. Ive cooked it several times and its a big hit in my home. Im looking forward to trying more recipes out!
Cheryl
So delicious & so easy!! Thank you so much!!
Sally
Delicious and easy recipe! I used the seasoned Panko breadcrumbs so I skipped the salt and pepper. With a smaller air fryer I had to cook them two at a time. I was skeptical about the mayo but it works. I’m definitely going to share this recipe with family and friends.

I’ve made this recipe a handful of times with Pacific cod loins. It ALWAYS turns out great! My Ninja Foodi Oven cooks it evenly and perfectly every time! I’ve started serving crock pot Great Northern Beans and air fried frozen hush puppies with it! Makes a delish fried fish sammie meal!
Margaret Sikorski
Thank you for your recepie. It came out perfect in my Ninja Food I! I forgot to take a picture. I served it with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. Yum!
Barbara
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe. I gave up traditional fried flounder because it always turned out awful. For Christmas I received an air fryer and then I found your recipe. Made it last night and it was a big hit! It was the best fried flounder we have ever had. Better than the restaurants. This recipe will become a family favorite and will be made over and over again.
Patricia Robertson
This was delicious! I made it exactly as written, but for 2 people. I can’t believe only one other person reviewed it. I thought this air fryer was a “one trick pony”, and I was ok with that.,it makes awesome fries. Now it makes awesome haddock. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside, I’m impressed!
Anita
This recipe is fantastic! Made it exactly as written. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a crispy, tasty air fried fish. Was skeptical when I first read the ingredients but now I’m hooked! Give it a try. Quick, simple and yummy!
Jackie
Delicious recipe and very easy to make!
