If you have not had a chance to try making a Quiche in your air fryer, now is the time. Not familiar with quiche, well it’s a pastry shell that is filled with eggs, cream, cheese and usually other meat or vegetables. It is a great dish to serve on holidays, lazy Saturday or Sunday mornings and it keeps great in the refrigerator so you can have a great ready to go, back to school meal.
They also make for a quick lunch or dinner, and one of the best things is that you can prepare it ahead of time, so it’s ready to go when you get home.
The quiche originated in France, in other countries it is usually served as an appetizer, or at a brunch. In France, it is served either hot or cold. The quiche is actually custard, because it’s made of eggs and milk, and baked in a pie crust.
One of the most popular quiches is Quiche Lorraine, which means that it is filled with eggs, cream and cheese. The varieties of quiche are endless, you can fill them and add in a variety of items, the most popular in America being spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and the varieties are endless.
Here are some tips when you are making a quiche in or out of the air fryer:
- Leaving it in the air fryer too long, you want a quiche that bounces just a little, when you go and cut, it, otherwise if it’s firm it just means that it has been overbaked, you want a light and fluffy quiche. So, just cook until the edges are just set, just a little brown on the edges.
- Find an air fryer safe pan that is deep enough to hold your crust and your filling, but leaving a couple of inches of space between the filling and the edge of the pan, otherwise, the ingredients might fly around the air fryer.
- Leftovers make for amazing add-ins to the quiche, so check your refrigerator before you “complete making yours,” there is always something good to add in from the refrigerator. Anything in your refrigerator is a fair game from cheese, meats, seafood, poultry or vegetables.
- All filling ingredients should be cooked, not raw.
- Frozen pie shells, make excellent dough for the quiche, just bake your shell first, otherwise, you will end up with a soggy crust.
- Quiche continues to cook after you remove it from the oven, so it will firm up quickly after it’s removed from the heat source (oven or air fryer)
- If your quiche is overcooked it will start to curdle.

This is a great addition to anyone’s breakfast, KETO or not. My kids love it, and it is packed with vegetables, to make a great and healthy breakfast.
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup mushrooms, diced
- 1 cup spinach, diced
- 1/4 cup leek, diced
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Crack your eggs and then place them into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
- Then add your vegetables, I added KETO Friendly ones, but you can use any combination.
- Mix in the cheese. Mix everything well.
- Spray your pan with olive oil, or non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour the egg mixture into the prepared dish.
- Place the pan into the air fryer, and set the temperature to 300 degrees F, for 10 minutes.
- Plate, serve and enjoy!
