What You Need To Make Air Fryer Poppy Bagels
- All-Purpose Flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
- Egg
How To Make Air Fryer Poppy Bagels
Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and Greek Yogurt in a large mixing bowl. Mix until the dough comes together.
Fold in the poppy seeds. Divide the dough into 4 equal-sized balls. Shape them into bagels.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and then brush it on top of the bagel. Set the bagel into the Air Fryer Basket for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees F, air fryer setting.
Greek Yogurt
For this recipe, you need to use Greek Yogurt, which is thicker than regular yogurt. The thickness allows for the bagel to hold its shape and texture during Air Frying.
While all Greek Yogurt seems to be the same, the only brands that I have great success with are Stonyfield or Fage. I find that the store-brands are typically too watery.
Flour
Today, I made the bagels with all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. But you can easily change that out with self-rising flour.
I used regular flour since everyone typically has it on hand.
Self-rising flour is flour that already has flour, baking powder, and salt combined.
How To Store Air Fryer Poppy Bagels
This is a straightforward recipe to make ahead of time. I used the recipe below, which makes 4 bagels, but you can easily double the recipe if you want to make them ahead of time.
To store bagels, place them into an airtight container and then leave them at room temperature. They will last for about 2 to 3 days.
