How To Cook Frozen Cookie Dough In Air Fryer

Making frozen cookie dough in an air fryer is a quick and convenient way to enjoy freshly baked cookies without preheating your oven or cleaning a baking sheet. This is an excellent recipe if you don’t want to make an entire batch of cookies!  Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how to do it,

How To Make Frozen Cookie Dough In Air Fryer

Preheat the Air Fryer: Start by preheating your air fryer. The exact temperature and time may vary depending on the brand and model of your air fryer, but a good starting point is to set it to 350 degrees F (175°C) for a few minutes.

Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Line the basket with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat after preheating. This will prevent the cookie dough from sticking to the basket and make cleanup easier.

Place the Cookie Dough: Place your frozen cookie dough portions on the parchment paper or silicone baking mat, leaving space between each cookie to spread. The number of cookies you can bake at once will depend on your air fryer basket size.

How Long To Air Fry Frozen Cookie Dough: Once the air fryer is preheated, place the cookie-filled basket inside the air fryer. Set cook time for 6-10 minutes.

Cool and Enjoy: Once the cookies are done, carefully remove the air fryer basket from the air fryer and allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your freshly baked cookies!

Pro Tips

Making cookies from frozen cookie dough in your Air Fryer is no rocket science. The process is as simple as possible, but a few tips and tricks can help you nail the recipe.

  • Remember to leave a little space between each cookie dough ball. Remember that the cookies will flatten and spread as they cook; you don’t want them sticking together.
  • Leaving extra space and breathing room for each cookie will ensure they are perfectly cooked.
  • The time for the frozen cookie dough to cook depends on the thickness of the dough balls and the cookies. If you’re preheating the Air Fryer, they may take even less time to cook.
  • Start by checking the Air Fryer basket at around the 8-minute mark. If the vegetables still seem undercooked, pop them in for 2 more minutes.
  • You can also check if they have started to turn slightly golden brown to determine whether they’re done.
  • You can use an ice cream scoop to scoop out the dough balls to make perfect, even-sized cookies.
  • You can also spread the cookie dough in a mini pan or small tray.
  • Another great idea is to add a small chocolate chunk between each cookie dough ball to make easy stuffed cookies.

Faq’s

Can I air-fry frozen cookie dough? Yes, you can. Air fryers are excellent for baking cookies because they circulate hot air around the dough, creating a perfectly cooked exterior and a soft, gooey center.

Do I need to thaw the cookie dough before air frying? No, you do not need to thaw the cookie dough before air-frying it. You can cook the dough directly from frozen; just adjust the cooking time accordingly since frozen dough takes longer to cook than thawed or fresh dough.

What temperature to use for frozen cookie dough in air fryer temperature? Set your air fryer to around 325°F (160°C). This temperature is generally lower than conventional oven baking temperatures, which helps prevent the outside of the cookies from cooking too quickly before the inside is done.

How To Make Frozen Cookie Dough In Air Fryer

How long does it take to air fry frozen cookie dough? The cooking time can vary depending on the size of the cookies and the specific air fryer model, but it usually takes about 10-15 minutes. After about 8 minutes, start checking the cookies to ensure they don’t overcook.

Do I need to preheat my air fryer? Preheating your air fryer for about 3-5 minutes at the cooking temperature is a good idea. Preheating helps cook the cookies evenly from the start.

Should I use parchment paper or foil in the air fryer? Parchment paper with holes punched or perforated parchment paper designed for air fryers is recommended. It prevents the dough from sticking to the basket and ensures proper air circulation. Avoid using foil, which can restrict air flow and affect cooking results.

How many cookies can I air fry at once? Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Airflow is crucial for even cooking, so it’s best to air fry cookies in batches if necessary. Leave enough space around each piece of dough for the air to circulate freely.

Can I reuse cookie dough that has been air-fried but not fully cooked? If you’ve air-fried cookie dough and found it to be undercooked, it’s best not to refreeze or store it for later use due to food safety concerns. Instead, you can continue cooking it in the air fryer for a few more minutes until it’s done to your liking.

Cookie Dough In an Air Fryer Without Parchment Paper? You don’t need to use parchment paper, but I highly recommend it if you have it. Using parchment paper to line your Air Fryer basket will help make getting the cookies out of the basket easier. Plus, you won’t need to clean up the basket, either

Can I Use Kitchen Foil Instead of Parchment Paper? You sure can! Aluminum foil is a great alternative to parchment paper, and you can totally use it to line your Air Fryer basket and then place the cookie dough balls on it.

Can I use an air fryer oven instead of a traditional air fryer? You can also use an air fryer oven to cook frozen cookie dough. The process and temperature settings should be similar, but follow the specific guidelines for your air fryer oven model.
